I had taken a new job opportunity with a company in Illinois, so I was going to put my house up for sale.  My house was not old (only 10 years), but due to a poorly installed front door, water had slowly leaked in over time creating water damage.  The water damage created a large stain in the flooring and destroyed some of the base flooring underneath the vinyl.  I had to get it fixed before I sold the home as it was a major eyesore.  Theilman was able to complete the job within ~45 days of giving me the quote as this was a rush job due to my relocation requirements.  They were very responsive and professional.  I was impressed they were able to get the job done in the allotted time frame since the summer time is, in general, busier for construction.

They completed the job fast right before a big rain storm. They seemed to find all the damage from a falling chimney.

I had dealt with Eric on a previous project and was very impressed with his work and professionalism. There were a lot of changes with this project because we changed on our minds on products, ideas, etc, or because we ran across obstacles with the house, however he was always up front on what needed to get done and gave us a rough idea of cost and timeframe.
The end product is excellent quality, and we are very happy with all the work that has been. Eric's employees were always prompt and courteous and Eric is very easy to contact and responses to all questions/concerns promptly.

We started discussing the project in spring and Eric met with me to discuss the details. He was very professional and had an excellent idea of what needed to be done and how to do. He described the obstacles we'd need to overcome, discussed with the commercial building inspector what we would be doing and made sure what we did would be authorized. The contractor started exactly on time and ended the project a week before deadline. The workers were always prompt and courteous.
Everything about the experience was great, and the end product was amazing. There were no surprises in price, he was very up front with any increases or changes.

Eric really knows his stuff and bailed us out on what had become a nightmare job on which the prior contractor had finally just stopped showing up after 4 months.
He and his crews did a great job; we love the results. Fast, professional, good quality, not the cheapest but we found that you get what you pay for.

Theilman Home Improvements is an excellent contractor. We recommend them highly. In early 2008, we embarked on a renovation of our 2nd home, in Crandon, WI, east of Rhinelander. Our original contractor we had found as a result of Home Depot's door installation service a few years earlier, and contracted with him independently for this project. He said he could do this more ambitious project, but he was in over his head, I believe. As the months dragged on, he showed up less and less until by mid-summer he wasn't coming at all. All aspects of the job were left incomplete. For the entire summer in our lake home, we were left with stacks of lumber in the living room, dust everywhere, and only one working bathroom. Not living nearby, it was difficult to manage the project, meet with the contractor, etc. Eventually, we fired him and began to look for another contractor. The Home Depot in Rhinelander deserves much credit for helping us out. Although they are not allowed to "play favorites" with contractors, when we begged them for help, one employee took the time to visit our job site on his own time and make a recommendation of Theilman. Eric Theilman is a very professional and competent project manager, and has staff and subcontractors that he draws upon as necessary to complete the job. He stepped in, gave us a fair estimate, and picked up the ball. What had taken over 9 months to start took less than 4 weeks to complete. Eric's team also found numerous errors that the prior contractor had made, including failing to install a proper header above the new glass block window in the shower, and failing to install a proper drain pan beneath the tile in the shower. These errors alone would have cost us dearly if we had not switched to Theilman. I cannot speak highly enough of Eric and his team to do them justice. We greatly appreciate their excellence, their willingness to pick up after someone else's mistakes, and their ability to get the job done right. Theilman Home Improvements is the best!
