Response from Monk Construction, LLC
"I do not believe that I ever received a phone call from this person. I write down all names and numbers from people who call our office and have no record if this person. If we had a call we would have at least called back. I think there is a problem with people who are on Angie's list getting through to our phone number because this isn't the first time this has happened."

Nice to have a construction company in the Northwoods. Hope that other members of Angie's List will call to see if this company will work for them.

The roof looks great and skylights are flush and trimmed properly. But the strangest part is I can not tell they were even there as we found no debris, (i.e. nails pieces of old roofing etc.) There was no impact evidence from the workers!
I have askd them back to do an addition.  The price was higher than other estimates, but I do not believe there is any substitue for quality. This was a "Zen like professionalism".
Response from Monk Construction, LLC
"Thanks for the work (removed member name) and we look forward to doing the addition!"

THey started the job  on the date stated.  worked quickly to demolish and do the new framing.  THe subcontractors for electric and plumbing arrived to start their work.  The plumber removed all the 60 year old cast iron pipes and replaced them with new pvc from the basement up.  THe electrician wired for lights and venting, but never asked for the location for the chandelier in the bathroom and did not select a good place.  He left without getting approval from me.  I notfied Jeromy at Monk Construction and he came back personally to get  it right.   The drywaller came without a suitable ladder or stool  and borrowed mine.  He did not clean either my equipment or the site when he finished and was ready to leave.  I put out cleaners and suggested to clean before leaving.   When construction was to the point of painting, wallpapering, new flooring, I took over, as i had planned.  I found unsatisfactory areas  of finishing on the drywalling job.  THen I notified Jeromy, and the subcontrators returned to install the fixtures.  The shower leaked, but even tho it took two times to get that resolved,  Jeromy stayed on top of it, to my satisfaction.  He also personally lowered the cabinets above the washer/dryer to my satisfaction.  I notifed him that the drywaller was not of as good quality as I would have liked.  He noted that.
Overall I was satisfied with  the results.
