They did an excellent job of remodeling the station. They were good at demolition and remodeling while we were able to continue to do our jobs and air our newscasts. They were very responsive to our needs. They showed up on time and did their work in a professional manner. Their work was of a very high quality. I would definitely use them again.

I live in Northern Wisconsin and reliable contractors are very few and far between.   Winter/Plewa Inc stunned me with their professionalism.  I checked with our local lumber yard who mainly deals with contractors and I asked the owner who would he would have to his roof replace and with no hesitation he said "Mike Winter of Winter/Plewa".  I took the number and called and left a message expecting NO RETURN CALL like the other 4 contractors I had called for an estimate.  With in a few hours I had a call from Mike Winter setting up a time and date.  He advised me that he was heading out of town with his son and would need to reschedule for another date at which I would not be able to be there.  I thought here we go...another empty promise.  Mike Winter not only called me like he said he would he also went into great detail on how he had come to the total and what to expect.  Santa came early to our house in August when his crew was in my driveway @ 5:45 a.m. like he said they would and start @ 6 a.m..
I introduced myself to the 4 crew members and (Mike's son was the foreman) was so impressed with their promptness, their overall appearance, politeness and knowledge of their duties.  Mike Winter came in approx 5 minutes after the crew did to again go over every detail with me.  Seriously... EVERYONE took the roof job to heart.  They asked where they could set up their job trailer and  I said in front of the house would be fine.  They got straight to work taking such great attention to detail such as laying blue tarps on the ground to catch the debrie and any nails that would fall.  2 guys up on the roof and 1 on constant clean up AND he would take a magnet on wheels and scour the lawn for any nails that may have bounced off the tarp.  I have 2 large dogs that stepping on a nail would mean BIG vet bills.  I said my goodbye's and headed off to work with a great feeling that I had hired the right contractor for the job,
I returned home 12hrs later to find what I had thought was an abandoned job site!!!!  NO workers, NO tarps, NO ladders, NO phone call...NOTHING out of place!!!.... Only the job trailer remained  When I walked around the house to  where they had been working there was no sign of equipment or old shingles...NOTHING!!!  As I approached their job trailer still parked where I had seen it in the morning and there it all was....Ladders put away, tarps folded and placed under the trailer, various equipment stacker neatly under the trailer...my lawn showed no sign of having workers there.  All I could do was smile to know that there was a contractors out there who cared about his customers and his name.  5:45 a.m. the next morning, there they were getting ready to start their day.  You could set your clock for their consistence of starting every morning.  Day 2, I stopped and chatted with them before leaving for work and told them how pleased I was to find my house so well taken care of.  I told them that I understood construction sites because my dad had been a mason and that equipment needs to left out in plain site because it is the nature of the profession.  The answer that came from them stopped me in my tracks.... basically ...this is how our boss likes his jobs run and we are happy to comply because they like working for Mike. WOW!!!
They stuck with the job, starting early because this August 2012 was a dandy for heat.  They called and asked if they could use the outside hose and water spigot to try and cool the shingles down to work with them...really....and then they called to tell me that it was to hot to be up on the roof...GREAT communication skill.
When the roof was done, cleaned up and no nails found in the lawn the crew vanished with out a trace other than leaving their mark on our new gorgeous roof that will keep our house covered for years.
After the job was completed I had a few questions I asked that was important to me and they never treated me like I was an inconvenience to talk to after the job.  They treated me as their most important customer with a return trip out to my home to explain in person what was going on, not once making me feel un-important.
To conclude Winter/Plewa Inc stands out in their field for their stellar reputation.  Would I recommend them again or have them do more work for me.... the answer would ALWAYS be YES!!!  Mike Winter told me he keeps his guys working no matter how small the job was.  I had broken my thumb and was not able to stack wood so I called Mike to ask if any of his guys could come and help my husband and with no hesitation Mike had 2 guys step up to the plate and we were able to get all our wood in the basement for this winter and the balance stacked outside.  Not many people these days would do this and tell us that they would come back to help with anything else we needed help with.
I went as far as recommending to my regional manager to give a callto  Winter/Plewa Inc for roof work and needless to say they got the job.
Tomahawk Lumber, Tomahawk, WI sure know their contractors and we were blessed to have been given Winter/Plewa Inc's phone number.  Winter/Plewa Inc is a STUNNING COMPANY to work with because you can count on them every step and aspect of their word.
Great Job....
Thank you.
