I have a dog with a long coat, she is Labrador/Retriever mix. I know some say long coated dogs shouldn't be shaved in summer as it affects their ability to cool off. That may be true for some however I have a rescue dog who disagrees. The first summer we had her she was miserable. After a grooming where her coat was thinned and shortened she seemed far more comfortable. This is now a summer ritual that she LOVES. She jumps out of our van and runs into the shop. She loves the grooming, and adores the attention. She came out with a smooth velvety coat, smelling fresh, with nails that didn't scratch us up. She had a pretty orange, yellow and red flower on one ear.( I personally love the bows and hair pretties she comes out in and always take a picture.) Its hard to resist constantly petting her because her coat is so soft and clean. Our 5 year old wants to snuggle on her to smell her and rub her coat. That's a fresh clean dog. Because we live in the woods pine sap is a regular nuisance that they completely removed. They are also very accommodating. My Husband and I were having a crazy day and ran late picking her up, not getting there until ten minutes after closing. They were very understanding and nice about our being late. I will continue to use and recommend them

They have always been so happy to see the dogs, do an excellent job and the dogs come out looking (and smelling) fantastic. I would highly recommend these people!

I always take my dog here to be groomed. I've used Dandy Dog for 4 years. My dog is long-haired and curly. When they groom him he looks exactly like a black lab and his coat is seamless and soft.

I have used Dandy Dog for 4 years. They usually do a superb job. I've never had problems. I especially love how beautiful his paws look. This time my dog came home with a few nicks (not bad) and his hair on his rump and a spot on his tail was shaved to nearly the skin. I didn't really mind at the time. But now that the hair has grown back part way (this is May 2013) those spots are rusty brown colored (he is black) the hair is coarse textured and very thin - you can still see his skin. I will still give them another chance. I've never had issues before. I also have not alerted them to this issue yet but I will when I bring my dog in soon for his summer clip. I wrote a previous review for an A and I don't want anyone to think that this groomer is less than ideal. My dog is a perfect gentleman; they've said he is the easiest dog they've ever had to groom. One mistake is not going to make me change my loyalties. But I thought it fair to inform customers of both my good and bad experiences.
