TOM'S AUTO CARE

me and my son saw a car that was for sale and decided to look further into buying it, as we were looking at it an individual drove by and yelled out the window "don't do it", we should have listened. my son went to talk about the car and the owner pressured my son (who was just 18) and he bought the car for $1500.00, tax title and license were to be paid by the dealer.   my son paid cash for the car, got it home and took it to college a few times and a strong smell of anti freeze filled the car, we took it to a mechanic and it needed a head gasket, total $900 more for a college student, Tom's said "not their problem he bought it as is" i looked at the paperwork and even though my son paid $1500 for the car he only put $800 on the receipt, i questioned it and he said it saved him money on taxes -- fraud in my eyes. after a few more weeks my son comes home with yet another engine light on and takes it back to the mechanic and the transmission is bad--$2500 to fix, called tom's again "not our problem" no attempt to help or stand by anything just go away was their answer.  we are junking the car as it is more in repairs then to buy another car, which will NOT be bought from Tom's.  i feel robbed and violated and after talking to people from the area they are known for bad product and service and no repeat customers.  buyer beware is my recommendation.
