The delivery was on time and prompt, and Darrell was very responsive in setting up a delivery. However, the wood that was delivered was green and wet. This is very disappointing as this is the first time I've used his delivery service, and to have poor wood delivered during my first time of use ensures I won't purchase firewood from him again.

I was looking for a good price for firewood, but do not have the equipment or strength to cut, load and unload a great deal of wood. The description of their services I found online mentioned that a full cord of wood comes in 2 "super sacks," which makes it much easier to deliver the wood. It said you could "stack the wood or keep it in the super sack." When I inquired and learned that one sack was 42 inches in diameter and 6 feet high, I knew it would fit in the firewood crib I had constructed outside my garage. I intended to stack enough firewood inside the garage for this heating season and leave the other full "super sack" outside until next year. The problem was, the sacks are so high, that Darrell and his son couldn't get their pickup truck close enough to my outdoor firewood crib because of concern for hitting the eaves of the house. They said all they could do is dump the sacks off the back of the truck, and when they did, a lot of firewood came tumbling out on the drive. So much for, "You can leave it in the super sack if you want." Once I started unloading/stacking the wood, I found quite a few pieces too large to fit in my woodburning stove and I will have to get help splitting those pieces. In addition, I found the "super sacks" to be a PAIN, because you have to crawl into them to get out the wood in the bottom half of the sack. The wood also contained a lot more dirt and small, splintered pieces than I am used to getting. The next time I need wood, I'll probably look for someone who will deliver and stack it.
