Stevens Point had a terrible wind storm on 7/19/2011. Many large mature trees were uprooted and toppled over on houses & power lines. One tree fell against our garage and took a power line with it, pulling the power box away from the house. Although we still had power, the power company came by a few days later and cut off the power. Since we were renting, we had to wait for the maintenance man to call an electrician. He had several phone messages out for electricians. Then I noticed my neighbor had Shoemaker electric parked in their driveway, so I contacted the maintenance man and he said to find out if they had time to do ours as well. Well, they did have the time and the manpower (they had 2 electricians on the job). The guys were great and very professional. It only took 45 minutes to get ours done. Later that day I found out that Shoemaker socked the landlord $600 just for a service call!!! Wow. For this area, that is really an exorbitant price to charge. I'm guessing they took advantage of the state of emergency in the town of Stevens Point. Also, there should have been a huge break for a "service call" that was right next door to where they were working. No offense to the workers, but the company deserves an "F" for bilking the public on this one.
Description of Work: Replacement of metered power box outside.
