AP Electric was not only the lowest of three estimates, but they also gave me the best initial impression. My own un-preparedness caused a one-day delay in the four-day schedule they had allotted for the first phase. After the remaining three days, they worked hard to fit me into their busy schedule in order to get it done. After the rough-in, they would come back to install the fixtures after I dry-walled the ceiling and walls and painted. It took me another year to get that done. They did then come back and install the fixtures. The man that did this part was a less experienced electrician, and he made a few minor mistakes(none of which were dangerous)which he happily corrected when I pointed them out. Minor quibbles: One wall switch was not centered in a location, in which it will really be noticeable. They did not notice it, but neither did I until it was way too late. I did not even mention it to them. Also, one ceiling fixture was the wrong fixture, and this was not realized until the very end. I had to cut out some finished drywall in order to replace it. Also, for a surge protector, they had recommended a device that promised to work in a way that would actually save money on my electric bill. My research turned up a lot of questions with no definitive answers regarding whether this device actually worked. I also could not find any information indicating that this device actually was a surge protector. I asked them to supply a Square-D whole house surge protector instead, which they did.

AP gave a very professional estimate with great attention to the needs we had outlined. Rick also noted other areas that needed repair and could be done within the scope of this project. When the project became much larger than anticipated, the people at AP Electric were constantly in touch with us to assure that everything was taken care of in a prompt and professional manner. It was a real pleasure to work with a crew that was so thoroughly professional when an unknowable problem became apparent in mid-project.

The guy who did the work (Fred) was great. Work was done professionally and well, but $145 to put up a light fixture. Really? Their prices seemed like highway robbery to me. Wanted an electrician rather than handyman, because I wanted them to check the wiring (last fixture had a fire), well that minor thing would have been another $300. Outrageous!

Work was done when scheduled and was done completely and neatly. Pricing was done by the job rather than by the hour giving an idea of final price before the job began.

The price was a little higher than another quote that I got, but their quote (unlike the other quote) was broken down into labor and parts and was very detailed. They were on time, and very polite. The work they did was well done. However, there was one issue. The estimator that came out said that there would be no problem coming down the inside of the wall between my house and my garage into the basement. However, the actual people who came out to do the job did have a problem. They took the time to explain the issue to me and my options, and they ended up putting the electrical pipe on the outside of the wall (in the garage) from the attic to the basement after a few different attempts to run it inside. If this issue could have been avoided I think I would have been very happy overall. They did a good enough job that I would use them again in the future.

VERY PROFESSIONAL, GOOD WORKMANSHIP, AND EASY TO SCHEDULE APPOINTMENT. I GAVE THEM A B GRADE FOR PRICE BECAUSE I THOUGHT $233 TO DISCONNECT AN OUTLET WAS A LITTLE HIGH (2 MEN WERE HERE LESS THAN AN HOUR). BUT THEIR PRICE TO INSTALL NEW CIRCUITS ($542) WAS MUCH LOWER THAN OTHER BIDS WE HAD.

NOT ONLY WAS THE ELECTRICIAN ON TIME, HE CALLED TO SAY HE COULD COME OVER EARLY BECAUSE HIS OTHER JOB FINISHED UP EARLY. THE ELECTRICIAN WAS VERY POLITE, VERY FRIENDLY, AND SHARED SOME HELPFUL INFORMATION ABOUT OUR LIGHTS. PRICE WAS REASONABLE FOR THE WORK NEEDED. LABOR CHARGE WAS $50 OR $75 PER HOUR, WITH MINIMUM OF 1 HOUR, WHICH WAS TOO BAD CONSIDERING THE FIX ONLY TOOK 15 MINUTES.

EXCEPT FOR A SMALL SNAFU REGARDING THE NEED FOR TWO MEN (GIVEN THE HEIGHT OF THE FOYER), THE WORK WAS DONE IN A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME AND THE QUALITY WAS TOP NOTCH. I WAS EXPECIALLY IMPRESSED WITH THE SMALL AMOUT OF CEILING REPAIR NEEDED AFTER MOVING THE CEILING ELECTRICAL BOX IN OUR DINING ROOM ABOUT 3 FEET OVER. SINCE THEY DON'T DO THE DRY WALL REPAIR, IT WAS IMPORTANT TO ME TO MINIMIZE HOLES. LOOKS GREAT, WORKS GREAT!

THIS WAS MY FIRST EXPERIENCE HAVING MASSIVE ELECTRICAL WORK DONE. YOU'LL NOTE A'S WERE GIVEN TO ALMOST EVERY CATEGORY ALTHOUGH OVERALL EXPERIENCE WAS GIVEN A B. THE B FOR OVERALL IS DUE TO A LACK OF COMMUNICATION AND UNDERSTANDING, I BELIEVE, BOTH ON THEIR PART AND ON MY PART. THE WORK ITSELF WAS GREAT. THE PLACEMENT AND FUNCTION OF ON/OFF OUTLETS FOR THE LIGHTS IS NOT HOW I WOULD HAVE CHOSEN HAD I HAD A BETTER PICTURE OF THEM DURING THE DESIGN PHASE OF THE JOB. ALTHOUGH EVERYTHING WORKS PERFECTLY, ETC., THE ON/OFF FOR THE VARIOUS LIGHTS IS NOT CONDUCIVE TO HOW I USE THEM. CAN I LIVE WITH IT? YES. IF I WERE DOING THIS JOB ALL OVER AGAIN, WOULD I MAKE CHANGES TO THE DESIGN? YES. WILL I USE AP ELECTRIC AGAIN? YES. NEXT TIME, HOWEVER, I WILL MAKE SURE I TELL THEM HOW THE ON/OFF SWITCHES ARE TO BE PLACED AS WHAT IS LOGICAL TO ONE MAY NOT BE LOGICAL TO ANOTHER. I DO THINK A FOLLOW-UP CALL FROM AP ASKING ABOUT MY SATISFACTION WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE.

FANTASTIC CUSTOMER SERVICE FOR THE ESTIMATING APPOINTMENT AS WELL AS THE ACTUAL INSTALLATION. VERY PROMPT, ANSWERED ALL QUESTIONS, AND E-MAILED AN ESTIMATE 24 HOURS AFTER INITIAL VISIT. TECHNICIAN WAS CONSIDERATE, WORKED CAREFULLY AROUND MY PETS, AND CLEANED UP AFTER HIMSELF. I WOULD USE THEM AGAIN IN A HEARTBEAT. AND I PLAN TO!

EXCELLENT SERVICE. WE WERE GIVEN A FLAT PRICE FOR THE INSTALLATION INSTEAD OF HOURLY RATES. WHEN OTHER ELECTRICIANS WERE QUOTING 2-3 HOURS/FAN. ALL FOUR FANS WERE COMPLETELY INSTALLED IN UNDER 4 HOURS... IN 90 DEGREE HEAT.
