The crew who worked on the house did not know how to handle an older home. Although the work that Richard did personally was fine, his painting crew did not know what they were doing and Richard was almost never there to instruct them. Most of the crew spoke no english and the lead guy spoke english poorly, which just compounded the problems. Here are some examples of the problems we had: They did minimal scraping, so paint began peeling within two years. I saw them painting without priming. They painted the windows before they glazed them, then added glazing over the new paint, so now the glazing is falling out, and they missed glazing many of the windows. They put on caulk when it was too cold so now it is all clumpy instead of smooth by the doors. They removed the wooden basement storms without marking which storm came from which window, so we had trouble getting them to fit right.
