Plumber was very nice, punctual and tidy. He inspected all the fixtures in the home, opened the drain catches, and determined that both showers needed new cartridges which would be ordered. Unfortunately after inspection by the plumber, the water in the showers was very cold and there was no possible adjustment-- only cold water came out. One shower is in my daughter's handicap shower stall and we had to use buckets of warm water to bathe her until the shower was finally repaired. The parts arrived, but both were not the right cartridges when the plumber tried to install them. There was a reorder, 'express shipping' and finally in the 3rd week the showers were fixed.. we were without hot water in 2 showers for 2 weeks! That was not the bad news -- at $125 hour for plumber labor and the parts more expensive that originally quoted, plus getting charged for the express shipping -- we topped out the bill with over $1200. That is outrageously expensive to replace cartridges (and another $50 part was added at the recommendation of the vendor) in showers. (It should have been a 30-45 minute installation) Marty was always very nice on the phone and spent time getting the right parts in the end. Now however, the master shower is still not balanced to the temperature control. Marty checked it and explained that today they don't even use numbers on the controls because it is difficult to regulate depending upon the spray etc. I just know that it worked before, now it doesn't. Why? (installation) So my experience with Horner is that they are very expensive; the quality of the work is not consistent with the cost of the work. When I asked for a copy of the bill for the parts and a breakdown on the times that the plumber was at my home -- bill breakdown in detail- it was not provided. They refused to negotiate on the bill and one week after it was due, they sent it to a law firm. (I was traveling and out of town at the time) I paid the bill in full and am hoping to share my experience so that others don't get coddled into making the same mistake. I do not recommend Horner for plumbing repair work.
