This was the fourth remodel we did on our 1970s home. With moderate to poor experiences on the previous three projects, we were nervous about proceeding with such a major remodel. Heather Scott of Heather Scott Designs did the design and while she expressed we could use whatever contractor we wanted, we went with her recommendation of Bunker Construction. We met with Mark Bunker several times before signing the contracts. He was knowledgeable, professional and patient. He researched the existing structure completely before presenting a bid and made modifications as requested. Mark and Heather worked as a team to ensure all areas were covered. From the very first day that demolition began until the project was completed, Mark and his crew were ahead of schedule and delivered everything that was promised. When I saw "leave the premises in sweep clean condition" at the end of every day, I never believed that it would actually happen - but IT DID. When one subcontractor neglected to sweep and pick up and Mark Bunker was informed of this by another contractor, Mark arrived the first thing the next day to take care of it. And he had nothing else scheduled to do here that day! NOTHING was bid in the contract that had to be increased by a change order because of underestimating or inadequate research. Mark had a handle on the project from the beginning and was in charge the entire time. If for some reason no work was going to take place on a certain day, Mark would call that morning and let us know. The end result is beautiful and the quality is top-notch. The project was contracted to take four months and we were using the area after three. Never have we had a contractor finish ahead of schedule - a month early! I only wish we had been introduced to Bunker Construction before we did our first project. We already have plans to add an additional garage port and will not even consider using anyone else.
Description of Work: Bunker Construction removed an existing sunroom and gutted the existing kitchen. They then built an addition in place of sun room with full basement underneath. The kitchen has two islands and the addition has a slate fireplace on one wall; the other two walls are four sets of Pella sliding glass doors with transom windows above. In the basement addition a full-bath was added.
