A Better Home Inspection A John Fay Inc

John was painfully thorough. He went through everything and did not miss anything, that I am aware of. I have confidence in him that he would catch anything. I have had inspectors miss things in the past and I would use John over all of them.

John performed 2 home inspections for us about 4 months apart. For each, he was very thorough and took the time to investigate all areas of the houses. His reports were very clear and complete with pictures pointing out what he found. He also explained everything that he found during the inspections and offered suggestions regarding severity/repair.
The first house that we had put an offer down on, he found evidence of water intrusion inside the exterior walls which could lead to mold issues. Since the owner declined any further investigation, we nullified the offer. In that first inspection, John really saved us from what could have resulted in a costly mistake.
I would (and have) suggested John to anyone looking for an inspector. You will not get a better bang-for-your-buck and you will receive a very complete and thorough inspection.

John is through and very knowledgable on houses. He was recommend by my realtor so I was skeptical that he'd be working for me. I was completely wrong. He spent more than an adequate amount if time looking over ever inch of the place. He found major issues that where very well hidden. He also had great suggestions on how to remedy issues. He also had the electronic report by me that night so I could discuss how to move forward with my realtor.

I called and reached his wife, who made the appointment. It was easy getting an appointment quickly and at a convenient time. She made sure to get all the information from me that John would need to know.
The day of the inspection John was punctual (actually a few minutes early) and got to work immediately assessing the outside of the building. He continually explained his findings and provided great advice on correcting problems. He was very thourough and took the time necessary to examine all areas of the building and its exterior (4 hours).
He provided his report within 24 hours which was 13 pages long. In addition to the report, he provided photographic documentation which contained notes and arrows pointing to what he was referring to.

Overall we were pleased with the depth of knowledge as well as his ability to relay his findings in lay man's terms. We were happy with the quality of inspection we received.

John spent over 3 hours evaluating from top to bottom, inside and outside the home we had an offer on. He was able to do it with a days notice. John was set and ready to begin on time. He worked hard, pointed any issues he found as he finished an area, took photos of areas, jotted down suggestions, focused on his job and handed his report as he finished. Photos were emailed within 3 hours of the service being completed.
