It was the most horrible experience I have ever had. Started 2 months after completion date. Contractor screaming at Sider and fired him, Sider Cliff refused to put tabs on the top J channel, Howard even showed a video from mfg, Sider refused to install correctly . When gutters were installed ladders where put up against the new window wraps dented just about all of them. Howard refused to replace them said it might cause more damage if fixed right. He had used bondo to fill in dents. Window wraps look terrible tried to call Howard refuses to answer or return my calls. Going to seek legal counsel. Be aware of this fast talking back.

This was the 2nd job I hired YJC for. Overall the job went well & the roof looks great. The timeline stretched a bit. I had a new insurance company pressuring me due to age/condition of roof. Fortunately the weather cleared a bit in December. I had a wide range of quotes from nearly 10 roofers. YJC was priced well compared to others. I was rather concerned about insurance since I have a steep roof & the amount of work meant a longer time they'll be up there. Howard provided an insurance statement as requested. Also many places indicated once the gutters were off, they'd be scrapped leading to another cost. The gutter's shape was fine. YJC guys reinstalled them when done which was an appreciated service.

They both went really well. We didn't want to replace all the siding so he resided one side of the building as close of a match as he could get and then used the pieces that he removed that were still good to match problem areas on the other 3 sides.

This is the most dishonest contractor I have ever dealt with. First, the owner stressed how much they clean up. The day after the construction we found soda cans around the property and in the garage. A tool was left behind and we found a board full of nails in the gutter. During construction a decoration went missing. First I was told “this never happens”. A week later, after the owner questioned his crew and 2 crewmen admitted to wanting to take it, and I was told “sometimes things get lost” and that he would “do whatever it takes” for me to be satisfied with the work. I was offered a replacement or a credit. We verbally negotiated a $150 discount. The next day I discovered that the company owner entered my property without my permission and installed a decoration on the house they “found in recycling”. I told him it was not mine and I wanted it removed. He then reneged on the verbal agreement and threatened (three times!) to put a lien on my house if I did not pay in full. I sent requests via text and a written request for him to remove the decoration he put on my house. The request was ignored. I then had to wait over a week before I received a lien waiver from the company after my payment cleared the bank. A simple construction job which should have been over and done with in a day took almost a month to resolve and left me with missing property.

"We here at YJC pride ourselves in giving our customers what we have contracted with them to do. In this case we were contracted to replace a multi layer garage roof with cedar shingles. The removal of this much accrued roofing material in the restricted space allowed made for a difficult job. Despite this difficulty and the proximity to a commercial bar property we were able to remove and replace the roof in one day and that included a re-deck with 7/16 OSB. Cleanup was done with little debris left behind other than a few pop bottles that remained inside the garage due to it being a windy day. Other small debris also later fell from a line of bushes very close to the garage. It's very hard to get everything in that scenario. When We were made aware of the situation of some debris remaining, it was collected and removed promptly. As for the decoration, (weathervane) a promise of a 10% discount was offered, if we could not locate the weathervane in question. We indicated we would look through our trash. The weathervane was eventually located on the property but not where our man had placed it, after some investigation It was later discovered in the homeowners recycling bin, it was then reinstalled as per our agreement. Because our discount was contingent upon finding the weathervane we did not expect that there would be any problems with it's reinstallation. Any assertion that it was stolen as was suggested is patently false. Six people affirmed that this is not only the same weathervane but so to did the homeowner in her description to us when we asked her for details on it. We understand the homeowners concerns and try to be responsive to them. By finding and returning the weathervane we believe we did the very best we could."

It went very well. They answered all our questions. They were punctual. They explained everything to us, and spent the time with us we deserved. Got it done within time frame we expected. Also another guy that worked for the roofing company did our gutters, he did an immaculate job as well.

Raymond was right on time for the initial appointment. He went up on the roof to take a look and measurements. He was very honest with us and told us we had another 5 to 10 years with our current roof, however several of our neighbors with houses of the same age have had issues and had to replace their roofs. Due to the fact that we go South for the Winter, we wanted peace of mind while we were not here. Raymond and his crew showed up on time and went right to work taking off the old shingles. There were 3 crew members on the ground at all times taking great care to make sure all the debris was picked up promptly and none of our extensive landscaping was damaged. It took 3 days, but at all times great care was taken to make sure that no part of the open roof was exposed to the elements. We were so impressed by the professionalism of Raymond and his crew. Howard Smith did a great job, he was very professional, explained the process from the beginning to the end and had great communication with me. If there was going to be a delay he would let me know. His teams were very professional and did a great job. The best part is Howard really helped me choose colors that would complement the house and spent extra time with me to make sure it looked the best. I will definitely use Howard on all my construction jobs and would highly recommend him. He is very honest and wants to make the customer happy.

Raymond was very responsive to my concerns. The crew showed up as scheduled and though the work took a little longer than expected, the job was completed that same day. The crew was professional in their attitude and willing to answer any questions I had. They were attentive to details in their work and were thorough in their clean up. I had even told them I thought the clean up was fine but they insisted on searching for more loose nails. (They did in fact find several!)
Raymond was around most of the day making sure things went smoothly. They did what they said would be done, when they said they would do it, and at a very reasonable price. I have had experience with several other roofing companies and in fact had just had a new roof put on another home. I will not hesitate to give Raymond a call next time I need roof work done.

I can't say enough about the experience. Raymond Smith (owner & our contact) was a pleasure to work with and explained the process in terms I could understand. I was home when the roof was replaced, and I must say the roofing crew was equally as nice to deal with as Raymond Smith. There was a crew member who made sure my garden beds and our lawn was free of roofing debris during the whole process. The roofers were very personable and very professional.

Raymond is an excellent communicator. He did a great job explaining plans for the job and was very responsive to questions. He was in contact frequently from the first estimate through the final day. He spent a lot of time on site during the job, which went very smoothly. On the few occasions I did not immediately reach him by phone, Raymond returned my call quickly. He was really a breeze to work with. His estimates were very competitive. Overall, I was very satisfied with the work. Yellow Jacket also did a smaller job on our sun room that turned out very well.

Ray was punctual, professional, and genial. His crew came days earlier than he anticipated, and he came personally to inspect the work the same day. His policy is not to issue a bill until he is satisfied with his employee's work.
