He went to a supply place first and picked out some of them that were in our price range. Then we went to visit that place and selected this specific door. Then he went and picked it up and brought it to our house and installed it, which was considerable and required some changing at the opening so he had to cut things that were larger. The bad thing about him was that he did not bring the door that we selected. He brought a little different one that he said would be better. We do not happen to like the color gold, we choose one that had a brushed silver color, a quiet tone, and he changed it out and brought the one with gold handle and gold kick plate, and we could not just believe it. We told him that this was not the one, and to go back and bring the one we selected, but he told us that we were wrong and this would look much better on our house. I do not know why we cooperated but we went ahead and let him put it on. We like the door; I have not replaced the gold kit plate yet. It looks fine; it just is not our personal taste. It is not that it looks just awful, it looks fine. It is a nice quality door. It was just his brash to not put on what we ordered and then to tell us well I did it because you were wrong. In the process we talked to him about replacing our living room carpeting with hardwood and he told us no that is a mistake, you would want to keep the carpeting, hardwood is bold and not friendly, etc. He told us he would not do it. He was very friendly, he was very outgoing, he was easy to chat with, but he was opinionated to the extent of even disregarding the person he is working for and that is what it ended up to. So, we decided we would not hire him again, but not that he was a scoundrel in any other way. He even came back once because we had a little something about the door that we wanted him to do some adjustments for, and that was fine, no charge.
