I tried working with Ground Effects of Wisconsin, Inc. for a backyard project. We started talking in April. I was on her schedule for May. I gave her $2000 down payment. Week after week she came up with excuses why she was not working on my yard. She never initiated contact though. I had to beg for a text or call from her. Finally last week, after another ignored promise I told her to give me my money back or I was going to file a fraud report. She gave me a check back and even cashing that at her bank was a hassle. I would not recommend her. Looking back on the entire experience, everything about her seems sketchy. She failed to show up for our first two in-person appointments. Terrible communication skills. I can't comment on her work because she DIDN'T DO ANYTHING!

Initially it was difficult to reach the business.  Almost all phone calls go to voice mail.  But they had the lowest price and after multiple attempts to get the job started, it was done in an afternoon.  They ran out of sod part way through and said they went to Stein to buy more.
I watered the sod daily to keep the soil moist for a couple weeks as instructed, and it seemed to do well during this time.  The rest of the summer I watered once a week.  It didn't grow as tall as the surrounding grass, but stayed relatively green.  The following year when the yard was starting to green, the sod stayed brown and looked dead.  After about a month I started watering the sod again and it greened up but did not seem to grow at all.  I stopped watering and the sod turned a greenish brown.  (The entire area, not just spots - ruling out fungus).
The following year (this year), the same happened.  The sod did not green.  I left at least 10 voicemails with this company asking to call me back, at first polite but obviously more agitated as the weeks turned to months.  I did get one call back stating they would send someone to look at it, but that was the last time I was able to reach them.
I understand I could have easily made a mistake with the care, and presented my complaint that way and was just asking for their help and advice, but still was ignored by this company.  Eventually I was making it clear I felt they needed to come inspect it and fix it if it wasn't my fault.  I realize things don't always work out perfectly but would at least appreciate an attempt to call back and address my concerns.
I have the phone records, written accounts of each voicemail, and receipt to prove this if ever questioned.
