 + -1 moreI put a request for contractors proposals out on Craig's List. I got 8 responses. These were very hungry contractors, all assuring me that they could do the job. The quotes were all about the same (except for two "outliers" which were rejected). Personalities and experience were hard to choose between, but none of them really made us feel very confident. Then I read a review of Tim's work on the Solar Energy Fair blog from 2008. Two people raved about Tim, so I gave him a call. We hired him. He tried to start the work in Fall of 2009, but between the County rezoning permit lag, and the weather... he didn't get too far. But he plowed through the winter (pun intended), shoveled snow out of the inside of the construction before the roof was on, framed in cold and wet weather. They completed the 3,800 square foot home by late April, and we got to start moving in by May. It is just what we wanted. Thank you Tim Wood!
Description of Work: Tim Wood was the general contractor for the construction of our new home. He used the Structural Integrated Panels for the base construction. While the house was built to our plans and specifications, Tim brought his years of experience and knowledge to the project in every detail. His attention to detail is incredible. While not fast, he does not drag out a project. So take the time to let him build a beautiful home for you. His main goal is to build an energy efficient home. He does solar and super insulated construction. Our budget would not allow us to do the solar panels (yet), but now we are living in a house with 10" thick walls, tight construction, excellent windows, and a huge amount of insulation in the roof. I don't anticipate using very much to heat this one! Tim also understands air exchange, ventilation, and the "livabilty" of the house. I recommend Wood Construction without reservation.
