You can't do better than David Goplin. He has worked on our house for decades - we stopped years ago getting quotes from anyone else. His last two projects for us were remodeling a bath with custom tile and adding a second-floor four-season porch. David's integrity shows in the craftsmanship and attention to detail in his work, how he addresses problems in working on an old house, and his ethics.. Doing things right simply matters to him. David is a pro.

David has completed a bathroom remodel and a door/trim installation project for us. He is very thorough and conscientious. We love the finished product! Our painter even commented on the high quality of the finished product. We look forward to working with David in the future.

David gave us floor plans early on before any other company would even talk about specifics and his quote was better and with more details than a ballpark estimate. David is one of the good ones! All of our friends and family agree that the finished product looks fantastic. My favorite part about working with David is that when the inevitable issues came up during the remodel, he explained the problem very clearly, talked out our options, and made us feel comfortable with the path we went down.

David is one of the most trustworthy, honest, creative, intelligent, and resourceful contractors whom I have met and engaged to repair, construct, and recommend others during my almost 40 years in Madison. After observing his attention to details and his abilities to discern how best to resolve the problem, he is the first contractor who comes to mind when repairs/construction are needed. Goplin Const. (Dave) has done numerous projects both on the farmhouse, outbuildings and the new house built on the corner of the farm property. Never a glitch with the projects other than changes made by me to which Dave was very accommodating. He has earned the trust with our entire family as they use him as well to the point I don't have to search over and over getting estimates from others which is such a nice feeling to have in today's world. If you expect "finish" work, I highly suggest Goplin Const.

I hired this company to remodel a full and half bath, My concern is with the flooring, there was a area that was not leveled right and needs to be corrected. The contractor said I purchased the wrong adhesive to go with the vinyl. I was not told at the store that I bought the wrong materials and the contractor never informed me that I bought the wrong material when I brought it to him or else I would have returned them. Also informed the contractor I had 2 concerns about the trimming one was corrected the other crack in the trimming is still there. I didn't think it would cost more than it did, he never asked me about my satisfaction of the work completed. I felt there was a lack of communications about the concerns.

David and his son Chet did a fine job on our bathroom remodel, the only reasons the rating isn't higher was the tile we picked out was discontinued and the Gerhardt's rep forgot to ask us what style of shower door we wanted, causing a delay of about a month in finishing the project. Neither was the fault of the contractor, but the suppliers.
