We liked the fact that when we called the office, we talked to someone right away who set up an appointment within the next few days to assess our needs and give us an estimate. Our roof was leaking so time mattered. Other contractors we called were not very good about calling back.
I had five different
I needed some new siding on the chimney and had been told that it takes a couple of weeks to get that because it is matched to the color of the house. I gave them permission to obtain the sample they needed on 7/8. I had asked several times before the start of the job if it had been done. It did not get done until 1 month later, days before my job started. What that means is that now my job was being done in pieces. The original roofing team could not complete work and I had to wait weeks for a siding team to come in and complete it their part and the other parts the other roofers couldn't.. My feeling is they just didn't care to plan. They were the ones that told me it would take time to get the siding matched so they would do that early and then they didn't.
The clean up from the roofers was alright although they left a large amount of cigarette butts on the curb. Just what you want when you are new to the neighborhood! Also no one cleaned under the dumpster when it was removed from the driveway. There were a lot of nails. The siders replaced a piece of wood above the front porch in addition to the chimney. I don't believe they picked up any nails from the front because my 3 year olds found about 20 rusty 3 inch nails right outside our front door. They also piled up their garbage in a corner of the driveway which wasn't removed for days. .
Luckily for me my dad was around when they were working because he pointed out that the 2nd bathroom needed to be vented. It was written in my contract to do it but I am sure I would not have noticed if it wasn't. The job was also considered completed by them although a downspout was only half attached to the house and not hooked up to the drain. At the first rain I noticed a stream of water shooting off the 3 rows of shingles. There was also water pouring down the siding above the entrance door where the end of a gutter was. I have yet to see if their ideas to fix these things will work.
Overall, I would not recommend them. They enforce the fact that they are a family owned business and I guess that made me think maybe the customers are treated like family but that was not the case here. It was a disappointment and I hope that do not have roofer issues in the near future.
It should be noted that I am writing on my mom's angie's list account in case the company states that the name does not match any work they have done.
"Our staff at Tri-County Contracting makes every attempt to maintain professionalism with our clients and to show respect to their property. We are honest with our clients and desire to build a high level of trust with them as well. The work by our company was supposedly completed in 1999, but this customer filed the complaint in 2010? We have no record of these events taking place, and ask that future homeowners discard this feedback."
