"The tree was actually purchased on 5/13/2020 for $539.00. Our sales staff member made a error and mistakenly thought we did deliver to Kenosha. The contract was in MIndy [Member Name Removed] name and our salesperson called an apologized to her for his error. She was very kind about the mistake that was made. Their money has been refunded."
"Thank you very much. Most people that write reviews only complain. We truly appreciate your kind remarks and we will continue to work at the professional level that we pride ourselves on. It was a pleasure working for you."
"Our company can not sell a tree that a customer specifically picked out and paid for. We take care of this tree until it is planted. Our sales members must do much leg work and paperwork for each and every customer. There are many employees that are involved in the behind the scenes activities (most people do not know this) that are necessary to care for and plant a tree. Full refunds are given within a 3 day cancellation period. After that point, we must pay for our costs."
"Thank you for your kind words about our tree installers. I will be sure to pass on this information to them. We are happy that you pleased with our company."
"Mrs. [member name removed] requested us to move 2 trees at here residence for a cost of $450.00. She also purchased fertilizer for one of her large trees that was moved on site. A fuel surcharge was also paid. Her total original contract with tax was $572.00 As was explained to Mrs. [member name removed] when trees are transplanted on site, there will be a open hole and the plug from where the 1st tree was dug will be put next to the last hole so it can be easily pushed in. We do not put the dirt back in the hole as the spade cannot pick it up again. This is all explained at the time of the sale. Mrs [member name removed] requested we fill the hole. This was an additional fee as we had to send another employee with a truck and topsoil to the house, which she paid. Mrs [member name removed] stated that her tree was dying. We do not warranty trees that are transplanted on site this is clearly stated in the contract that was signed by Mrs. [member name removed]. We have pictures of the trees after they were moved and they look very healthy. When a large tree is moved it needs to be mulched and watered according to the instructions that we provide our customers. Large trees may go through transplant shock and need extra care."
"We do not have any record of this gentleman's name in our system. We have no idea what this is about."
"[Member name removed] came to our facility to purchase a tree. Several different sizes of trees & their prices were discussed. [Member name removed] decided that he would like to purchase a Autumn Blaze Maple for the price of $1000.00 and would pay for it upon installation. No money was ever exchanged at the time of purchase (our policy is to pay when your tree is tagged for your location) . The law requires that Digger's Hotline is called before any digging is done in the ground. We notified Digger's Hotline and when the Marking Company went to the site, [Member name removed] secretary ran out to stop the men from marking the utilities. The Marking Company notified us that they were not allowed to enter the property. We called [Member name removed] office and was told by a woman that she was unaware of anything regarding the tree installation. We told her our situation and did not hear back from them. When we finally did get ahold of [Member name removed], he said that he hired another company to do the tree installation. No money was ever exchanged."
Trees on the Move is by far the worst contractor I have ever dealt with. Overall our landscaping and patio project with Trees on the Move was a project from h***. I would not recommend anyone to ever use them for any type of work. Here's a quick review on how the project went:
We signed the contract with them in the middle of May 2014 to install our patio, fire pit, and some other misc. landscaping around our house. We were told it would be the middle of June before they started. We were okay with that knowing that they had a backlog of work and our project would only take 2 weeks to complete per Trees on the Move. Due to rain this spring they did not start until July 9, 2014. Once they started, any little bit of rain the day/night before they would not show up. We had less than a 1/2" of rain one night and they never showed. Once they started to install our patio, we noticed that all of the pavers were ordered the wrong color. Not one piece of brick/paver was the color we ordered. It gets worse... Trees on the Move then gave us the option to go with the brick/pavers that they started installing or have them reorder the correct color that we wanted. Well after a couple days, we decided that this is a lifetime investment and we should go with the color we selected in the end. With that said, we found out the correct brick color was on back order for 3 weeks. 3 weeks went by and here we’re at the end of July with no patio yet. This was supposed to be a 2 week project, let me remind you. So the new product gets delivered, installation is going good for a couple days. I noticed that they stopped installing the wall around our fire pit about halfway up. I didn’t think much of it, as I thought they would just bring more product out the next day to finish. It was 2 more days before they got more product out to finish, however the brick they installed was the same color but from a different production lot. The top of the wall was a tone darker than the bottom half. This wasn't the only issue. We had numerous other workmanship issues such as:
Gravel scattered throughout the brown mulch around the entire house. We basically gave up on this. There is still a lot of rocks in the mulch. The four caps we had installed on the columns were not even close to being centered. It looked like they didn't know how to use a tape measure. The fire cap was not centered and uneven. The fire pit ring was damaged upon arrival. The pavers around the fire pit were not pitched properly allowing water to pool up. Sitting caps were not cut properly and bowing in certain areas. There was noticeable adhesion glue dripping down the wall that hardened and never cleaned up. They cut our cable line coming into the house and didn't even tell us. They left a large hole in our back yard to use that dirt for the island in front of our house. They were supposed to bring in their own dirt for this.
The owner and project manager came out to address our concerns. They listened to us and fixed the issues but it took weeks and multiple requests to get the punch list items completed. The biggest thing we got grief on was the fire pit wall color. They responded by saying there is nothing wrong with the wall lot color and it would be corrected with a power washer to remove the dust. So at that point they weren’t going to do anything to address my concern. They said I could call the manufacturer from Rochester to address my concern. So yes, I did offer to contact Rochester because I wasn’t getting anywhere with Trees on the Move, nor did they offer. A quality contractor wouldn’t put their customer or supplier in a position like they did. After contacting Rochester and sending them pictures of the wall, Rochester was in agreement that the wall color was indeed two different lots. Rochester said they would follow back up with the project manager since that was protocol. At that point, the project manager continued to push back with the same response he gave us in person. Rochester alluded to in their email, quoting the project manager, “It looked worse in pic than in person. It’s a tumbled block and the project manager said it was very dusty and power washing would take care of everything.” This made me extremely frustrated because now Trees on the Move was pushing back even though I had it in writing from Rochester that the lot was different. We now lost 3 weeks because of their pushback and unwillingness to listen to us. After writing a stern email and a BBB complaint, we finally got Trees on The Move to work with Rochester on replacing the wall. Overall, from when the issue was brought up to the project manager until the new wall was replaced it was another 4 weeks that were lost. After the wall was fixed, it took multiple requests and emails for them to finish the punch list items. They would come out and finish one item, but not the other. It was three more weeks before they were absolutely done with everything in the contract that they were to provide us.
So yes the issues got corrected but with much pushback and time lost from us being able to enjoy our patio. The schedule delays, customer service issues of not responding to emails (ever), voicemails, or text messages is just terrible business. I have requested additional compensation and the BBB complaint has gone nowhere at this point besides them continuing to push back and not respond.
I understand there are some circumstances out of their control such as the weather and the supplier providing two different stone production lots, however they were the one’s that caused the delays with the wrong order initially and pushback from the project manager on the wall color. Overall we lost 7 weeks on the project because of a wrong order, and a project manager that doesn’t want to listen to his customer. The project was finally finished in the middle of September. This was supposed to be a 2 week project. They since have gone silent with no resolution to the BBB compliant and no compensation for their delays and terrible customer service. BUYER BEWARE of what you are getting yourself into.
"On May 15th, 2014 the [member name removed] entere3d into a Contract with Trees on the Move. They signed a Note Payable so that they could make monthly installments. This was a courtesy made especially for them. We require a down payment of 30% at contract signing, 40% at start of project and the balance due upon completion. The project had a late start due to weather conditions (rain for nearly 2 months), that is true. The original product selected by the [member name removed] was changed and our Salesperson did in error order the original product instead of the newer selected product. This was merely a human error and not done intentionally. Mistakes sometimes happen to everyone. As a result, the company making the product was in production at the time and we had to wait for the material to be completed. This did cause a delay for them. Realizing that time was lost to our client we installed 57 Lineal Feet of drain tile at No Charge, installed 6 yards of Mulch also at NO Charge and installed for them a 7’ Spruce tree valued at $429.00 also at No Charge. We also offered them shrubs for their front yard and they chose not to accept this offer. On August 6, 2014, [member name removed] requested that we do more work for them and he signed a change order for $2430.00, which he paid $1000.00 down payment. To date there is still a balance due on this Change Order as well as the balance of his 2 last payments. We did not leave the project until the [member name removed] were 100% satisfied with all the work that was completed. The materials used on this project have been paid for as well as all the labor and overhead costs involved with any project. Therefore we cannot give the [member name removed] any monetary refund. The additional items listed above were our compensation to them for any lost time. All of the work that was contracted for was completed and accepted by them."
"[Members Name] was treated with the utmost curtsy. He is a very demanding, high maintenance person who wants to pay the least and receive the most. [Members Name] was give a fair deal. After last year's extremely harsh winter, trees that were not properly watered did not make it through the winter. We can not be responsible for the care and maintenance of the trees once they leave our facility. We give every customer a written watering guide that should be followed along with the proper mulching techniques and fertilization information. We do our best to instruct our customers the proper care techniques. It is up to the customers to follow the care guides given."
"Unfortunately our company can not be responsible for all circumstances that may happen at your own home or acts of God or Natural happenings."
