I was able to get a hold of the architect that works there, he did give me an email. When he wanted to know the measurements, and he asked me to go to the village and get the original Blue prints it would be cheaper then me to create the design, So I took time off of work, and the village cant print them, and they gave them to me temporally to take pictures, I scanned it put in in a PDF, and he came back and said nope he would have to recreate the designs, and said it would be $1500.00. I said no way. I could see for a whole house, but not just the basement.

The engineer was able to provide clear and detailed drawings which not only the remodeler could understand but so could I.  They responded in a timely manner which enabled us to keep our project moving ahead since removal of the walls was not in our original plan..

Through several in depth meetings, we met to discuss and share our ideas for the new residential home we intend to build in SE Wisconsin. We thoroughly enjoyed working with Nathan throughout the process. He was thorough, knowledgeable, professional and very easy to work with. He was extremely willing to work with us on our ideas and schedule. We have never built before, but Nathan was very patient with us, answering all of our questions and providing insight not only into intelligent design, but a great deal of information about current building processes and practices. We felt much more confident talking with builders armed with this knowledge. Everyone we've spoken with in the industry that knows Nathan has remarked how great it is to work with him. It is clear he has built a lot of respect from those who work from his plans. The cost of doing this with a professional was well worth it to get exactly what we wanted in our new home. We would recommend Nathan and Patera to anyone who is wondering where or how to begin this very complex process.

We started with a concept, Patera has taken the ideas into reality.

wI recently puchased a home in a lovely neighborhood with NO curb appeal. It needed a new roof, so I decided at the same time to remodel my front porch. The space I had to work with was limited and the porch could not be expanded because of the location of the garage. The house is also a 70"s ranch, so the porch needed to fit the style. Owen did a fabulous job of designing a porch that really matches my home, yet gives it elegance and charm that were missing before. Originally, we were going to use brick for the bottom half of the front pillars. Unfortunately, I was not able to find a match to the existing brick on the house. I called Owen and he had new drawings for me within the week. Great service! Great price! Great design!

I called and made an appointment. They were able to come out within 2 days to inspect the joists that were visible. They informed me of the problem and sent me data on what work will need to be done.

Tom's initial visit was to learn the history of the problem and have a look at the areas of water leakage and rotting. I've had many people out to look at the problem, but Tom was the first to notice that the windows had not been flashed properly. Tom contacted a building contractor, Steve Marino, to continue the investigation of the problem. Steve, his carpenter, and Tom all came to my house and spent the day removing siding to fully investigate the extent of damage, gathering data and taking photos needed for Tom's report. The preparation of the report took longer than I'd hoped, but that was at exactly the same time that Tom was changing companies. On that note, I'd have to say that Tom was extremely professional about the situation. I was provided a release from the Patera contract and a new contract with the new company. Except for the minor delay and a couple of extra documents, it was as if there was no transition at all. Because my home is just under 10 years old and there will likely be litigation, the thoroughness and quality of the report are of extreme importance. My lawyer reviewed the report and said it was excellent, and I'm very satisfied with the service I've received.

We started a new home design by bringing Owen several books, photos and a similar floor plan that we liked On our next meeting, he showed us a plan for a beautiful modern bungalow, with wrap around porches and beautiful arches, stonework, and a great layout. It was a little larger in square footage than we wanted so we tweaked the plan and maximized a smaller space. Owen listened to all of our needs and had great ideas to achieve our goals.
