They did all of our windows in 2016 and now in 2024 I have to do ALL the window caulking and actually having too remove 3 out of 9 windows so far to reset them properly. As I am doing each window it is an experience in how bad the installation crew installed each window. From the very bad caulking job they did to how they actually installed the windows. Each window was installed differently and some are so bad I have had to remove them and then remove the wood they used and put new whole pieces of wood in. 2 window caulking jobs are so bad that 1 had a colony of ants living in the window and another had wood rot so bad the wood smelled of rot. Both windows needed removing and replacing with extra care to the areas I mentioned before. The insulation job is terrible to a point of redoing each window. They use foam insulation and on some windows they use it to cover up their short comings on the installation of the windows. I DO NOT recommend using this company to install your windows.
Response from HomeTowne Windows and Doors Inc
"This is not right! If a window is installed improperly or there is sloppy caulking, it is apparent immediately. This is 8 years later! We stand by our work and if this customer had contacted us we would certainly have addressed his concerns-even after all of this time. This customer has not contacted us with any of these "issues" and after 8 years, it is not right to bash us online. These windows were installed in 2016. After 8 years, there may be a need to re caulk. Also, if these windows were truly installed so improperly as to need to be reset, they would not have operated properly. None of this was noticed for 8 years? We are not perfect, but we take care of our customers and any issue that arises. To trash our company after 8 years without even giving us a chance to remedy whatever issue he feels he had, is unfair."

Excellent from first meeting with Bob Cunningham, visiting their showroom a couple times with questions, coming up with a final quote/contract to scheduling to the installation, which took place yesterday. I had 5 pocket installations and 4 total replacement. I went from 2 standard windows to changing to a picture window and also an apron window in the kitchen. Selected windows from Pella and Soft-Lite. I have to say I really love the look quality of the 2 Pella's installed. I never felt pressured and always felt that any question I had was answered completely. My experience with HomeTowne Windows & Doors in New Berlin, WI was a good choice for me.

We had some difficulty verifying the appointment time, but they arrived within the appointment interval and worked very professionally room by room through the first day; did a reasonable clean-up before leaving. Completed the job the following day (except for the storm door). The exterior of the new windows should have been cleaned more thoroughly; otherwise their clean-up was good. Their supplier put the wrong storm door in the package, so it took an additional five or six weeks before the proper door was installed. The workers were always courteous and willing to answer questions. Their process was very noisy, but efficient. Would definitely recommend this service provider.

When we replaced our windows, we forgot about one window in the attic. So we called Hometowne and asked Mr Deitz if they would would replace one window. He said sure. So we had him come and measure for the replacement and discuss which brand of window to use. Bob suggested a Pella. He offered a great window with a great price. While we were taking we asked about exterior storm doors. Bob offered some suggestions for brands of doors also. We went with the Provia. A little expensive but very good doors. The installation went without a problem. And we were very happy with the window and doors. The doors have a dead bolt so they can be locked from the outside with a key. We can now lock the storm door and keep the inside door open. It has much better weather stripping than our old ones did.

EVERYTHING went extremely well. From the quote, which was 25% less than VerHalen, to the install, which was 100% better than the patio door install done by VerHalen. Bob Cunningham, our sales person, was timely and very informative as to what would be done and what would work best for our situation. The cost was significantly less for the identical Pella windows and install than VerHalen. The work crew was on time and did a great job. I would definitely recommend HomeTowne Windows to anyone looking for windows and/or doors!

HomeTowne installs the replacement windows we researched and selected for our house, Soft-Lite. Our sales rep, Steve, was pleasant and knowledgeable. He measured and placed our order. We scheduled our installation for February and our project was delivered on time. Unfortunately, our experience deteriorated after installation. We have had concerns about the quality of the caulking job on several of our new windows. Some have been corrected, some have not. One of the patio sliding doors that was installed squeaked. HomeTowne attempted to correct the issue and when they could not, they called in the manufacture's rep. He was able to correct the issue and while he was on site, we asked that he check out our caulking concerns. He confirmed that corrections were needed and promised to follow up with HomeTowne. Weeks have passed with no response. In the interim, a piece of trim has fallen off one of our front windows. This time, we contacted Steve directly and again weeks have passed with no response. It is now July and we still waiting to resolve issues from February.
Response from HomeTowne Windows and Doors Inc
"We are sorry that this customer did not have a good experience with us. We always try to provide the industry standard for customer service. Obviously, we dropped the ball where the trim piece is concerned. No excuse for that. We did go out today and fix that issue. It was actually a piece of the screen. As for caulking concerns there were some bad/missed beads etc. on the original install. We had thought we had taken care of them on a previous return visit. When we went out today, we did inspect those units and the caulking had been done on that previous visit. BUT, had we responded to the screen part inquiry as we should have, we could have addressed the caulk question at that time. Certainly, if there are any issues or concerns we missed or pop up, we will take care of them. It is our goal to make our customers happy, and will do so even (and especially) if we make a mistake. We do appreciate this customer's business and again, apologize for the delay."

They were excellent from initial bid through final installation. They called to confirm the appointments. And got our job done one week before their promised date. Product quality seems excellent. Workers were curious, professional, competent, on time and did excellent work.

I think that the preliminary work that they did and the presentation for the sales was very good. I think the installation process was excellent. The team was very, very hard and they failed to get a passing grade for me because it took them four and a half months to do the follow up work and it was silly nonsense little follow up things that took them all of twenty minutes to finish. So they had to replace the handle, they ordered it and they sat on it for three and a half or almost four weeks, they came to put it in and it was the wrong handle. They had to re-order the handle and then come for another month to out that in. It's just some little minor things that again should have taken no time at all. They should have been here and three weeks and maybe four at the very most. It was just really poor follow up. The cost was in line with other cost. The quality of their work was very good. They took so long to do the follow up. The guys that came to do the windows themselves were very conscientious and very good.
Response from HomeTowne Windows and Doors Inc
"We strive for perfection on every job and it is truly disappointing if and when we let a customer down whether the issue is big or small. Obviously, this dragged out longer than it should have. We are constantly looking at ways and areas we can improve. If we make a mistake, we try to learn from it, and will do so in this instance."

The work was done in two days, in the middle of winter. The weather didn't slow them down. They used tarps to cut down on the cold air getting into the house. It's been 1 1/2 years since the work was done and everything is still great.

.  We met with a number of contractors, but settled on Hometowne because we immediately felt at ease with their co-owner, Bob Dietz.  There was no pressure to buy anything, and he made multiple trips to our (Big Bend) home to speak with us and show us his ideas, before we told him that his company was our first choice.  And we noticed that he spoke first about his work crews, and how experienced and thorough they were.  We found this passing on of praise to the workers, by the owner, unusual and refreshing.

And they did a terrific job for us.  They were prompt, thorough, and followed through with us.  And their initial bid was their final price - no hidden costs.  This was our first experience with them, but it won't be our last.  Highest praise for this company!

They are absolutely gorgeous. We went from double hung to casement windows. The workmanship was wonderful. We had problems with one window that was cracked and they noticed it right away and scheduled a new come back. The guys were excellent, friendly, punctual, and professional.

We were extremely happy with our entire HomeTowne experience.
They were very prompt in setting up an initial site review and estimate for the work. Their prices were reasonable and actually very close to an estimate we had received 5 years ago for the same work. The best part of it all was that their prices for painting/staining the doors and windows were very very very reasonable -- much more so than us trying to do it ourselves.
We scheduled the work for after the first of the year to get an additional discount. The first scheduled dates actually had to be moved for two reasons: 1 - some of our windows were backordered (at no fault of HomeTowne) and the front door arrived with a large scratch in it (again at no fault of HomeTowne) and 2 - it was below zero.
We were able to reschedule for early February, which was no problem for us.
We sent over paint codes for the exterior and they realized that one of the colors seemed to be coming out more yellow than our house, so they made a trip over to get another sample and get a new paint mix to make sure it matched perfectly.
Come installation week, we found the installers to be incredibly courteous and professional. They did a great job of minimizing the mess as well - not an easy task in winter.
We are extremely happy with all of the work that was done and would highly recommend HomeTowne to anyone else looking to do similar work!
