 + -1 moreThey were quick to respond to my request for an estimate and came out within a few days. He arrived and walked around my yard with me, answering my many questions. I had them trim 8 trees as well as fertilize them. They cleaned up all the twigs so there wasn't any additional work for me to do. If i hadn't come home and seen them cleaning up the road in front of my house i may not have known they were there! We were so pleased i gave their name and number to my neighbor who needed some work done. It was definitely worth having someone knowledgeable help us. Do - be prepared, Do remember to ask for the additional discount Angie's List users get from this company - not sure if it was a limited time deal or not but 5% is better than nothing.
Description of Work: I was given a free estimate for the work i wanted done. I asked about spraying for insects, using too much mulch, my arborvitaes splitting. I asked about a Plum tree that was looking poorly. I asked about the health of all my trees. He gave me some ideas on what i could do myself. He recommended trimming the plum tree and seeing if it might last one more year and then gave me ideas on trees/shrubs i could replace it with. I had no idea those types of trees normally only last 8-10 years - so my 15 year old tree is probably doing better than it should. He then walked around the yard on his own, took some notes and then left. I later received an email with the quote for services. I highly recommend being prepared with questions you have or you'll miss out on a wonderful opportunity to learn from someone who really knows their stuff. They came out separately - once for the fertilization, then a couple weeks later for the tree trimming. I was not home for either service.

Description of Work: We used American Tree Experts in the fall and they took down a large locust tree and the stump ground off.

 + -1 moreThe lead arborist spent about an hour with me examining the trees on the property, diagnosing a couple of problems, and advising me on the management of the trees to create the best landscape. The crew that came to prune, remove trees and grind out stumps was courteous and professional. They were thorough in their work and were careful not to disturb my gardens and shrubs. I have hired this company several times over the last 15 years and have always been pleased with the quality of their work.

 + -1 moreThey were very good. They were prompt. They did their job very well. I was very satisfied. I found them on Angie's List. I had a large limb that cracked off on one of my willow trees and there were a couple of small limbs that had to be cut off because they were in danger of cracking off too and one was over the roof of my house. I don't know about the price because my son took care of that. They were very responsive. They were very professional. I would use them again if I need a tree service.
Description of Work: I used the services of American Tree Experts in August. They took care of some branches on my willow tree.

 + -1 moreWe had a horric wind storm and one of our large White Ash trees looked like it was going to break and fall on two homes. They came out and cabled it up so that it wouldn't fall during the storm. They then came back today to cut down the tree and hauled it away. They also ground down and hauled away some things that we had taken down. Beautiful equipment, very professional and hard working guys. I was very impressed with them and they did great job.

 + -1 moreWithin a week they trimed and wired the tree along with other work in our yard. The guys were quick, answered all our questions and cleaned up well. I believe they may have come even sooner if the weather allowed.
Description of Work: Our large mature tree was split at the base and we called American Tree Experts, Inc. with the expectation that the tree would have to be destroyed. They helped us decide the proper action to save the tree and put us to the front of the list for service.

 + -1 moreI have used them in the past. I am always very pleased with the work from start to finish. They clean things up very nicely when they finish the job. They have always cut the limbs with the health of the tree in mind. Jesse is very knowledgeable and very professional.
Description of Work: Cleaned up deadwood and branches on several ash trees. Cut back limbs on an oak that was touching the roof. I called in the summer to get on their schedule for fall dormancy work. They knew the best time to come out to cut my particular type of trees.

It took what I thought was a long time between initial inspection (9/24/08) and work being completed (11/19/08), but overall not a big deal. Workers were very professional, efficient and did a nice job cleaning site.
Description of Work: Prun, Crown Clean 6 of my trees; cable together limbs on 2 trees; do a root collar excavation on 1 tree.

 + -1 moreThe price varies with the job. They've done work for me at least half a dozen times. They have been very prompt. The clean-up is outstanding! They seem to be very safe. They have excellent-looking equipment, and they are very professional across the board. I will definitely use them again in the future. They have also done work for several of my neighbors.
Description of Work: They did general tree maintenance and pruning. I also had them work on some other trees that were diseased. They have done tree removal for me, fertilization, and stabilization as well.

 + -1 moreI have used this company for about 5 years to trim a tree here and there. They have always done good work. This time I was not happy with the work on two of the trees because I did not think enough was trimmed. I immediately received a call back from the owner after I called to complain. Someone was out to our house within a day or two to trim more. I was very pleased with the final result and the worker even rang my doorbell to apologize and make sure I was happy. That sealed it that they will be the only company that I call!
Description of Work: Trimming three tall trees. One was to keep the branches away from the roof and others were to keep away from neighbors lawn and from crowding out another tree.

 + -1 moreThese guys take their arborist certification seriously and really will try to save a tree if they can. Our maple was so rotted inside that it was hollow - big enough for our 6 year old to climb through! They took it down and cleaned up nicely.
Description of Work: Removed rotted 70+ year old maple and trimmed a large branch from our neighbor's silver maple that was hanging over our garage and rubbing the roof shingles. Also, removed and ground out stumps of large, overgrown bushes in front of house.

THEY ALSO DID A GOOD JOB IN REMOVING THE TREE SHARD THAT PUNCTURED THE GARAGE ROOF AND CEILING. I BELIEVE THE PRICE CHARGED FOR THE WORK WAS EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE.
