I had several people come to give me estimates for grading our home due to some basement leakage. After reviewing the estimates and looking at the scope of work I choose Bill at AAA.
His estimate provided the most detail of what I was looking for and he listened to what I wanted. I had worked with AAA in the past and I was very satisfied with their work so I had a high comfort level hiring them. Due to some heavy rain showers the project took a bit longer than I would have liked but Bill was excellent about communicating about what was happening.
In the end I was delighted with the project. He was able to locate gold mulch that I could not find anywhere.
This summer as my new plants have come up I am so happy with the job he did. With the basement leaking under control, I was able to remodel my kitchen, a project I put off until I was comfortable with the condition of the basement.

We had AAA landscaping replace our retaining wall over 5 years ago.
The owner, I believe his name was Bill came out to give us an estimate. My husband was not impressed but we were given addresses where he had done prior retaining walls. We were very impressed with what we saw.
We hired AAA to replace our wall and plant shrubs early in the summer. The following year the shrubs died out. We made an agreement where we would pay for the new shrubs and they would remove the dead shrubs and plant the new ones at no cost for the labor.
We were so satisfied, they are the first company we called for an estimate on a new project regarding around our house.

We had Bill, the owner, re-landscape our entire backyard including the installation of a 4ft high chain link fence. He had to remove over 20 Arborvitae shrubs that were all at least 15-20 feet high as well as four 25 foot pine trees and a River Birch tree. The MAIN reason we wanted this done was for drainage reasons and Bill did an outstanding job in this area. One of the trees we bought from him died over the winter & he promptly replaced it come Spring. He also came out after the first really hard rain to make sure that the yard was draining as designed. With all of the rain we had in 2010, I had NO issues with water draining towards my house as had happened prior to Bill doing this work.

One of the small trees they put in died and after a number of calls they came back and replaced it when we weren't home. What they put in was a different variety of tree not old and smaller. Just to know what the tree was, my wife called a number of times and left messages asking if they could let us know what the tree was and how to take care of it. They never returned the calls. We would possibly use them again in the future.

First, calls were not returned in regards to when the job would start once we paid the down payment. It took several calls before someone came out. They came out once, took out the chain link fence, planted the posts and didn't return for over a week, maybe more. It took several more trips out to get the fence put up. Initially we were happy...over the course of the winter the back gate started getting harder and harder to open...it's to the point now where we have to physically lift up the entire gate over the latch rather than just lifting up the latch. We'd like to fix it, but since on instillation most of the screws were stripped, that's proving to be difficult. Second, one of the posts near the back gate has a split running up almost 1/3 of it. Third, in order to install the front gate, a post had to be drilled into the brick...but he only put one screw in and now the thing is all wobbly, and now the latch is starting to be difficult to open, on top of being easy to access. We called once, were told by someone that we would get a call back, no response. Called again, and were told that none of what we said could be true, but that he would send someone out that week. That was a Monday, by Friday nobody had come out. We've called two or three more times since then, no response. We have some more landscaping work to hire out and there is no way that we'll be calling AAA Landscaping again. MANY phone calls left un-returned, shoddy work, frustration on my end...bad practices for running a business.

"We, AAA Landscaping, do not have record of any of these multiple phone calls that the complainant is claiming to have made. Completion of the fence in question was done in November of 2008, which is almost 10 months ago. Upon completion, there was a walk through done with the customer to make sure that everything had been completed and the customer was satisfied with the job. AAA Landscaping later received a card from the customer, which we have sent a copy of along with this statement for your records, stating how pleased they were with the fence that AAA Landscaping had installed and the service that was provided. This job took us and extended amount of time due to problems on site, and there were difficulties that AAA Landscaping had to deal with such as steel and scrap in the ground where we tried to make holes, both of which the customer was not charged for, although as they have indicated, they were given an extremely discou7nted price. Our policy at AAA Landscaping is that if there is a problem within a minimal amount of time after installation, we understand and can work with the customer. In spit of this, considering that so much time has passed and especially the winter season with snow on the ground that the gates are often pushed through, there can be untold stress on the fence due to mishandling in many cases. For this exact reason, we do not warranty any fences. AAA Landscaping would be more than happy to go back to this property and fix the current issues that the customer has stated in his complaint, however since the initial job was done and completed without any problems, there will be a trip charge and/or service charge of $100 minimum."

They did a wonderful job. The workers were pleasant and accommodating. They did the whole project just as we had asked. We had received bids as high as $2,500 for the arbor alone so we were thrilled about the price as well. They built the arbor from scratch as there were no prefabricated pieces and built it from good quality wood. The whole thing turned out beautifully.

Estimate was given within a few days of calling them. (Called on Monday, October 31st, estimate presented on Thursday, November 3rd). All branches were completely cleared from my property and yard was left in neat condition which I very much appreciated. Follow-up: Bill called afterwards to ask if I was happy with the trees.

OVERALL, THE QUALITY OF THE TREES AND PLANTS PROVIDED HAS BEEN EXCELLENT. 1 YEAR GUARANTEE PROVIDED ON TREES AND HONORED PROMPTLY AS NEEDED. WE WERE NOT KEPT UP TO DATE AS TO WHEN THE JOB WOULD BEGIN. FOUR MEN SHOWED UP THAT COULD NOT SPEAK ENGLISH WELL, OR AT ALL. THE FENCE BOARDS WERE NOT STRAIGHT AND SOME BOWED OUT AT THE TOP. WHEN WE CALLED, WE GOT AN ANSWERING SERVICE AND GAVE THEM THE INFORMATION. SEVERAL DAYS LATER THESE FOUR MEN SHOWED UP AND PUT HUNDREDS OF SCREWS IN THE FENCE THAT WERE NOT NEEDED. AFTER REPEATED PHONE CALLS, BILL, THE OWNER, FINALLY CALLED US BACK. HE SAID HE WOULD BE OVER TO CHECK AND DID NOT SHOW UP. WEEKS LATER HE CAME UNANNOUNCED. HE SAID THAT THE WORK WOULD BE COMPLETED TO OUR SATISFACTION. MONTHS WENT BY, WITH NO WORD FROM HIM, THEN THESE FOUR MEN SHOWED UP AGAIN. WE NOW HAVE UNEVEN GAPS BETWEEN THE FENCE IN AREAS. WE PAID HIM TO STAIN THE FENCE AND THAT WAS NOT DONE TO OUR SATISFACTION WITH A LOT OF STREAKING. WE ARE VERY DISSATISFIED WITH THIS COMPANY AND WILL NOT HIRE THEM AGAIN! THERE IS A DEFINITELY LACK OF COMMUNICATION WITH THIS COMPANY.

"The customers had expressed no problems to the start date. When we finished, myself and my crew were commended on the job we had done. My crew did extra work requested by the customer to install caps, this was not part of the contracted job. This is chargeable, but we did not charge at the time. Soon after the customer complained about one thing after another. We made several trips to do additional work without charge. Some of the additional work was because of disagreement between this couple on how they wanted the installation done. While doing the job, my crew asked if they could avoid the intoxication of the customer by working very early in the morning, but timing did not matter. My employees can speak very good English, but when harassed refuse to. The members daughter hired us to install a fence at her residence after this complaint was made. I propose to adjust the fence spacing for the sum of $280. This would be applied to prior additional services received. Bill Servi"
