It went well. He showed up on time and was very professional. He did the job in a timely fashion and cleaned up afterwards. He was social but businesslike. There are some swirl marks that I question, thus the b rating but maybe they are normal. I don't know. I noticed them after he had left.

Larry was fast and polite. Prices were very reasonable when compared to other providers and you can't ever tell the tub was damaged. It's hard for me to tell and I knew where the hole was! I would recommend larry and his business to anyone with the same issues.

They first came out and advised me on what it would cost and when it could be done and that extra repairs would cost more. They said that they had to take it out and do the work outside since it was a small space. They were accommodating and adjusted the dates for me.

Initially, response was very good. They returned emails/calls quickly and we were able to setup two dates very easily. We were told over the phone that it would cost "a couple hundred" to put the foam pack in and "around $400 to put a new fiberglass floor in." The first visit was to replace the floor in the cracked shower. Larry arrived when he said he would and did a good job with the repair. There was some fiberglass dust left in the bathroom when he was done, but overall it was very minor and we were happy with the work. However he charged us $485.30 - which, to me, is MUCH higher than "around $400" - by over 20%!!! I didn't say anything since I had no written quote from him. A week or two later, he came out to put a foam pack in the shower that had been flexing for well over a year. When he was done he said it should last a long time. He charged us $237.38, which again is not really "around $200" in my book - another 20% increase over his verbal quote. After the first time we used the shower with the foam pack, it formed a crack in the floor. We called Larry roughly a week later to report the crack. He called us back and left us a voice mail saying he would, "Make it right." We took that to mean that he would fix it at a reduced cost for us since his repair didn't work. After that, Larry stopped returning calls. We left him 3 voice mails, and never heard back from him. Only after I sent them an email stating that I was upset did he call us back. We were able to schedule the repair, albeit a month after the original foam pack. Larry put the new overlay, but left the bathroom a complete MESS! There was a substantial amount of fiberglass dust over EVERYTHING! There was an empty paper towel roll on the floor, and his boots left big scuff marks on the floor. Whenever I've hired a contractor in the past, they usually clean up after themselves... Larry did not do that this time. In addition, he charged us another $284.85 - for a total of $522.23!!! That costs more than if I would've just repaired the floor the first time! How is that "making it right???" I sent a very angry email to Larry, stating that I felt like I was ripped off. I also stated that I couldn't figure out how "making it right" means charging the same amount, let alone more. Apparently Larry's work doesn't come with any sort of a warranty, and part of me feels like he weakened the floor even more just to drum up more business. He tried to get my sympathy because he had to drive 70+ miles to get to my house -- but it's not my fault that he wouldn't allow the local Twin Cities Surface Specialists franchise to work on my house - it would've been much closer for them! In the end he gave me a refund so that the second repair costs the same amount as the first one - but I still feel ripped off and don't think that Surface Specialists stands behind their work. If you live in Western Wisconsin, you're better off trying to find a company in the Twin Cities to work on your bathroom - don't give your business to Surface Specialists in New Auburn.
