Our new home's garage door was purchased from and installed by Garage Door Specialists in July 2015. In December 2015, 6 months after install, the cable came off the roller twice in a week, so we contacted Garage Door Specialists who came to re-wind the cable on the roller. The cable came off the roller again late September 2016. We called Garage Door Specialists as they installed the door and repaired it last time. We thought since it was the same problem as it was last time, they would have just taken care of the repair. However, that was not the case. We were charged for the September service call. We do not feel it is acceptable for 2 service calls within the first 14 months of owning the garage door. When I contacted Garage Door Specialists to discuss the invoice we received, Jean was very rude and unprofessional. Jean would not listen to my questions or concerns and continually cut me off when speaking. The most recent time the cable came off the roller, I was leaving for work. Because the cable was wound up so bad, I could not even use the emergency pull to close the door. I called Garage Door Specialists approximately 10 minutes before they opened, hoping someone would be able to come and at least close the garage door, so I could get to work. I left a message on the emergency line and the call was not returned. I called again shortly after Garage Door Specialists opened and spoke with someone who said he would see if someone would be available to come look at the door. I then asked for them to call me back to let me know, so I wasn't waiting for something that wasn't going to happen. After waiting for 30 minutes without any contact from Garage Door Specialists, I called the office again. The person who answered the call didn't know anything about the situation, so I explained it all again. He put me on hold, and then transferred me to Jean. I began explaining that I was waiting for someone to come and at least close my garage door. Jean cut me off and very rudely told me they were getting ready and would be leaving shortly. I then received a call after waiting another 30 minutes from the tech telling me he was on his way and would be there shortly. They finally showed up after waiting over an hour and a half from the initial contact to fix the door. When the tech arrived I informed him we had a tech out in December 2015 for this same issue and they told us at that time if the cable came off the roller again the tracks may need to be adjusted. Before the tech even looked at the garage door he told me that would not be necessary. He seemed to be in a hurry the entire time he was here and wanting to get to his next job as soon as possible. I realize that would have been a lot of work, which is why I offered numerous times for the tech to just lower our garage door and truly fix it when their schedule allowed.

It went great.  Very responsive right before Thanksgiving weekend installed door perfectly in a garage that was not square due to age and settling.  Did exactly what they said they would and very promptly. Installers were great.  Highly recommended.

Getting through to the company was easy, the person who answered the phone was responsive and seemed to understand what was going on. The repairman showed up quickly. He was very pleasant and approachable. He showed me where the door had gotten stuck because of a bent track. He made the repairs quickly and he didn't have to come back a second time with parts or tools. He explained what he was doing and he showed me certain parts to stay away from in the future if there was a problem - the force on some of the garage door parts is considerable and when things go off track there is potential danger of injury. He also made sure I knew how to open the door manually if need be in the future. The billing was reasonable and there were no surprises. All in all, a good experience.

After seeing the good ratings for Garage Door Specialists on Angie's List, I gave them a call to get an estimate on replacing my garage door. They were there the next day to do the estimate. They helped me pick out a door, they called their office on the spot to see if the door was in stock, and were back the next day to do the installation. They were extremely prompt and professional and very nice. After going into the garage after they had completed the work and left, I had noticed that a package of light bulbs I had in my garage was gone. I flipped on the light switch and realized that 4 of 5 lights that were previously burnt out in my garage(plus the one in the garage door opener) had all the bulbs replaced by the Garage Door Specialist guys. Now that's service!!!

I had also asked them to give me an estimate on replacing the garage service door and my two front storm doors. They gave the exact specifications of what I would need to order, told me to go to Menards to pick out the doors and the additional accessories I would need and that they would pick it all up. Just as the promised, when the doors were ready, they went and picked them up from Menards, brought them to my house and installed them as promised. There work was very good. They even told me that the storm doors may end up need some adjusting after using them the first few days. When I called them on the Monday after the weekend to say that one of the doors didn't seem to be closing properly, they came right out and adjusted it. Again, awesome service!!

I am very happy with Garage Door Specialists and would absolutely use them again and recommend them to anyone I knew was looking for this type of work to be done.

They were fantastic. They met their quoted price and were prompt. They are very responsive.

I wasn't really involved with the work but nothing went wrong. The quality of the garage door opener was a lot better than the old one. I got the job done in an hour. They were in and out really quick. I would consider using them again in the future.

This is the second time I used them. The first time I got next day service. This time I had to wait one extra day. Since this wasn't an emergency, I had no problems. Same repair man both time. I will use them again if I need.

I was quite impressed with Caleb and the staff that answered the phone on a Sunday afternoon. Caleb had been out one time before and did a great job and this time he once again impressed. While he may come across to some as a bit off beat being clad in flip flops and baggy shorts, the guy knows what he is doing and performed the repair with skill. The company found parts for the door among spares they and after a bit of modification on site, Caleb got it to function. I had to tip him ... he didn't charge me enough.
