Woodrite Carpentry LLC

We received a referral for Woodrite Carpentry from some friends of our who used them a few years ago. We were interested in having a composite deck with metal railing so I would never have to perform any maintenance in the future. We had our project quoted from a number of companies. Upon review, we decided on Woodrite carpentry because of the referral as well as the quote which was considerably less cost. The company is a small operation so the work is performed by one or two people. The work was very well done, in fact we could not have been happier. The detail work was great, the carpenter talked us though the process whenever there was a question. Great job of cleaning up. I was a little hesitant on selecting them because it was a smaller company but do not regret it know. The finished product specks for itself.

Woodrite was a great contractor to work with, from the detailed contract on what they world deliver to working with the city on plans and permits. This was a custom built gazebo and the workshop from the carpenter that did the work was amazing. Would highly recommend this contractor. Del, who is the owner is great to work with.

The price was the best out of three that we had looked at. The quality was very good, Jerry obviously took a lot of pride in his work and is very experienced. We were a little surprised on how long the project took, it was approximately 5 weeks from start to finish. The project really was accomplished by Jerry all by himself, which makes sense why it took so long to do. And in the end, I'd rather the project be done right rather than done fast. My feedback for Del is to be able to provide concrete starting dates instead of floating ones, and also the same with completion dates. I might have missed it, but I don't think we ever discussed how long the project would take, and it would have been helpful to manage my expectations that it would by one person working on the deck and it would take approximately 5 weeks to complete. Overall, I would absolutely recommend Del and Woodrite carpentry. The price was very reasonable, the quality was excellent, and the people are great. My 2 year old and 4 year old were very excited to see Jerry every morning and say hello, and Jerry was wonderful to work with.

I am very pleased with the professional workmanship - it is of high quality.

I am most happy with the new privacy fence.  The quality of the workmanship is excellent, and the fence does the job of blocking the view into the backyard next door and is also very aesthetically pleasing.  The workman cleaned up after the job was done and was careful not to damage my garden in the process of building the new fence.

Owner returned my phone calls and emails promptly and worked us into his already busy schedule.  The quote was very competitive and there were no extra costs or surprises.  We were very happy with the professional mannerism of the workers when they showed up to do the job, and they took pride in their workmanship.  I would highly recommend using Woodrite Carpentry, and I will definitely call them if we need future work done.

Did a great job got done in one day. Went the extra mile to make sure it was done correctly. Even had to chase an opossum and family out from underneath the deck. Price was reasonable.

Exceptionally well, the job was difficult because of the grade and length of stairs (25) . When completed the job exceeded our expectations.
Started the job on date, and completed the job on time.

There were several delays.  Original completion was  to be in late September or October.  I did say there was no rush.  This was not completed to my satisfaction until this week but it is done and done well.  It just took a very long time to get to this point.  Del was always responsive with my emails but there was a period when I was unsure if it was going to be done but no money had been exchanged so nothing had been lost at that point.  Again, it is done and to my satisfaction.

The completed project is excellent.  There was a slight delay in the start of the project and some weather related delays during the project.

Del came to our home promptly to provide a quote.  We discussed options for our deck and agreed on a scope of work and a quote was provided in a timely manner.  We also had two other reputable firms quote as well.  All the quotes were quote close and we chose to go with Woodrite as I felt very comfortable working with Del and the quality and reputation of his firm.
With the work now completed I and happy to say everything was done as promised with excellent workmanship.  Del checked in with me regularly during the project to make sure we were happy and Jerry, his carpenter was great to work with as well.  There are bigger firms out there that I am sure do good work, but I am glad to say we choose Woodrite and would recommend them.

Outstanding workmanship, they accommodated our schedule.

I was very happy with them. They had built a deck for me 23 years ago that was made out of cedar. They replaced the decking with a composite material. They did a good job of cleaning up and everything was left in good condition once they finished.

Once we decided to replace/upgrade the deck, we went to the Milwaukee Home Show to look for a contractor.  We talked with several but felt that Del and his Woodrite Carpentry team would be the best contractor for us.  The original deck was built on the level of sliding doors from the family room but a full step down from the sliding door going out from the kitchen/breakfast area.  The original deck ended just on the other side of the kitchen area door.  Since the door from the laundry area and the sliding door from the kitchen area are on the same level, we needed the deck expansion to be about 9 inches higher than the original deck.  Jerry built both levels of the deck changing the direction of the boards to enhance to the overall appearance of the deck.  In addition, he worked with my wife to design a unique privacy screen that he built on the east end of the deck.  The deck/privacy screen combination was so well done and attractive that it was featured in an article in the Milwaukee Journal House and Home section in June, 2010.  Woodrite Carpentry did an outstanding job with our deck, and we have/would highly recommend them to others.  While the price ended up to be more that what we originally planned to spend on the project, the end result was worth the money. We will definitely use them again we decide to do any other work on our deck.

My experience with them went well.  There were some issues while in the way, but he resolved them.  I started with him March of 12, and he got done about six months later.  It had been resolved a couple of months ago.  They were a little slower than I had hoped.  He's very professional and he's a very good carpenter.  He was very meticulous, and he did a very good work.  There were some misunderstanding as to what they wanted, but we got that resolved so I don't have any complaints on that area.  Their professionalism was top notch, and I got no issues with that.

For this rebuild, we again chose cedar decking.   Woodrite does offer the composite material decking as well, but cedar smells and looks so nice!
The job took about 4-5 days, tear off to finish.  Jerry built a storage box with a drop down door with the extra wood.  A wonderful area to store the grill tools, etc.  
To summarize:
We were extremely pleased with the work done by Woodrite Carpentry.  The deck is again new- looking and sturdy.  They moved the
hot tub off and back on the new deck without damage or extra charges!  The work was done in the time frame stated.  The shrubs near 
the deck were not damaged.  Everything was cleaned up well when they were finished.
We would  highly recommend Woodrite Carpentry without reservation! 

Prompt estimate given, very knowledgeable, professional, and informative without being pushy. Owner came out himself, and returned calls rather quickly. I was able to make informed choices without any pressure tactics. Work was done on time. Deck looks great. Actual carpenter who did the work was courteous, cleaned up after himself, and was considerate of my need to let dogs out occasionally and work around my 3rd shift schedule. My only concern is that no follow-up phone call, written details, or visit was conducted to provide me the information I would need for care of the deck/wood to ensure it will last me several years.
