Nick was polite and easy to talk to. He gave us options and made the decision process easy. On the day of the job, he arrived 15 minutes early than what was expected and got right to work. He even completed the job earlier than what was proposed. I was very satisfied with the workmanship and have no problems hiring him in the future for other work and would highly recommend him. Thanks Nick!!

Contrary to the previous review, Nick is excellent, professional and does great work. I've recommended him to other people in my family, and he has done excellent work for them as well. Nick is a classic jack of all trades. There is nothing this contractor can't do. When I first bought my house, it needed a lot of remodeling. After nightmare contractors, Nick was a blessing! He has done my garage, floors, window fixtures, back porch, lighting, electrical work and he is creating a new front door for the house. Nick has given me my dream home at a reasonable price. He is reliable, and anyone who says otherwise is lying. I get compliments on my house whenever company comes over. I am so happy and would never use anyone else.

What went right. Nick did well on his plumbing.
What went wrong. Nick failed to match doors whatsoever. Doors were a color that you would have to be colorblind to allow to remain because they clearly do not match surround trim. He cut on doors bought off shelf to make fit as opposed to special ordering. Got them from menards instead of Lisbon Storm and Door like he stated he did. When he took out the old tub there was a large gap between the old tub and new tubs footprint and he threw down some mortar(which is really what it looks like) and cut up old pieces of white tile( the floor is blue tile). Kitchen countertop is peeling up because it was a menard shelf item and not a special order. Painted with a paint plus primer which is a cheap DOI practice not a professional painter practice. Oh, did I mention that the doors were originally birch and he replaced with oak even after I told him the y were birch. I am from TX and not a native Milwaukee resident, many of the homes here were done with birch and you cant tell me he did not know this. Birch is far more expensive and a special order which, of course, our cheap contractor nick probably knew. Did not even touch the garage. Did not touch the tuck pointing. Exterior doors needed replacing and now instead we have enormous amounts of cold air coming in home. Do not touch this guy with the longest pole you can have special made. Kitchen was like the doors. THE WRONG COLOR!
Email me for pics of the guys work and I will be glad to share.

Response from Superior Building & Remodeling
"We extend our apologies to the unsatisfied customer and take their concerns very seriously. We strive to accommodate all customers including clients from out-of-state and our goal is to achieve full customer satisfaction. Client chose materials, colors, cabinets and appliances while in another state and emailed specifications to the contractor. Contractor placed orders per client selections and specifications. It was mutually agreed by all parties to discontinue the job after numerous upgrades and changes were made by the customer to the original job bid. Contractor absorbed 25% restocking fee for several items ordered and returned by the customer. Contractor absorbed an unpaid $6,000 in materials and labor due from customer. There was a significant amount of added work per customer request not included on the original bid (basement walls were covered in mold and had to be chemically washed; A new gas supply was brought in to the property; Closet removed to expand kitchen to accommodate changed cabinet dimensions; Custom ordered doors were cut down further on job site to ensure proper fit). Contractor did not wish to pursue the $6,000 in unpaid invoices and chose to walk away amicably. Contractor pursued every avenue to accommodate customer and therefore is shocked to see negative review on Angie's list."

Nick helped me figure out what sort of improved ventilation we would like to install for our attic. It was having a problem with water condensation in the winter. After I called him to tell him we were ready to go ahead and install some new vents he promptly scheduled for a crew to come and they had the work done in a few hours. We initially had some problems with the soffit vents staying in place, which Nick thought was partially due to the soft wood as the house is very old (1925). He was good about coming back to fix the problem and did so twice. The second time he came back he made sure each vent was extra secure at my request. He is conscientious in this way and came back without hesitation. The vents all look to be securely in place now. Overall, it is a pleasure to work with him because he is trustworthy and helpful.

Very well. An estimate was given for the job. All details were explained to me as to how the work would be done and what materials would be used. I had a very clear idea of how the porch would be repaired. I am very pleased with the finished product and excellent workmanship.

We were happy to find Nick because we were looking for a lead abatement certified contractor who would be able to do the work on our porch. He did a great job from start to finish and even helped us find someone to tear out the cement front stoop so we could get the work started.
