Troll Home Maintenance and Makeover

We've used Troll Home Maintenance and Makeover so many times since moving into our house almost four years ago that Tom and Trudi are practically on speed dial now. We've never been disappointed. What we appreciate most is their ability to think outside the box and come up with creative solutions for difficult dilemmas, which they almost always have to do with our older house that has layers and years worth of DIY projects that have to be undone before work can proceed. I don't even know how to label this latest projectâ I went with tiles because that's how it ended up. We started with new appliances for the kitchen. The appliance delivery team discovered they couldn't remove our old dishwasher due to a questionable DIY install. I immediately called Tom. He got on the phone with the appliance guy, I sent him a picture of the problem, and he knew right away what was wrong. I don't fully understand how he fixed it, but he did. At the same time, he also noticed our water line for the new fridge was not up to code and needed to be replaced, plus the area for the fridge would need more ventilation for the newer, larger fridge to work properly, things the appliance consultant didn't notice and that would have likely caused big problems. Tom took care of both of those issues and the new fridge now works like a charm. Finally, the new, sleeker microwave left a chunk of exposed wall that had been covered up with the old, clunkier microwave. Of course, the tile in the kitchen is no longer available. Rather than replace all of the tile, which is in good condition, Tom found some contrasting tile that complements the kitchen decor and cut out a spot to make a decorative back-splash area underneath the microwave and over the stove. The result is fabulous!

I had a leak in my bathroom which caused significant damage to my floor and walls. Tom kept me up to date with everything he was doing. His work, and my bathroom, are beautiful. While things were drying he even insulated my garage door. I can't express enough how happy I am with Troll Maintenance. Always timely, showed up every day and friendly. I highly recommend!!!

We've hired Tom and Trudy for several projects since purchasing our home two and a half years ago, and we've never been disappointed. For our latest project they replaced three doorsâ front door, back door off the garage, and the door between the house and garage. It turned out to be extra challenging, due to the house's age and all the layers of DIY projects from generations before that had to be corrected first. It was a lot of one step forward, three or four steps back. But Tom and staffer Sam fixed all the underlying issues before proceeding forward, and the result is incredible. We're extremely pleased. As they have with prior projects, they worked quickly, quietly, and cleaned up completely after the project was finished. They're talented, trustworthy, respectful, and just plain great to work with. I'd recommend them in a heartbeat.

We have used Troll Home for projects large (kitchen and bathroom renovation) and small (window adjustment) over the past few years and Tom and Trudy are fantastic! The quality of the work is superb and things are done the right way, without cutting corners. If they can't do the work themselves, they work with, and supervise, trusted partners. They are dependable, honest, and trustworthy with fair and transparent pricing. We plan to continue to use them and I can't recommend them highly enough.

Tom and Trudy have a vast knowledge of construction which is an advantage in dealing with a variety of issues. Tom is a problem solver and is creative in solving difficult problems and making things right. They are not only experts, but are friendly, explain the process, and leave the worksite clean. I highly recommend them and they are my "go to" team now.

Tom was great to work with. I am a relatively new home owner, and appreciated the extra time he took to explain exactly what needed to be done, how his work would be of the highest quality, and exactly what I would be paying for. I worked with some other "specialists" for different jobs before I met Tom. They were typically more expense, lower quality, and difficult to work with. I trust Trolls work, and already have additional projects I need their help with.

First of all, I found Tom by chance: We were just looking for someone to help child-proof our newly purchased home. But there were many bigger issues...and I feel blessed that Tom came into our lives to help us with everything -- from the childproofing to heating to insulation! Before Tom arrived, we were in trouble: The home we'd purchased had BIG heating issues. One room was 48 degrees, while another was 85. Tom diagnosed the root causes of our issues, and helped us even out our heat, rework our venting system, insulate and seal cracks and holes. He lowered our heating bill from an astronomical $1200 for January 2014 down to $350 for January 2015. He also helped us fix just about everything else inside and outside the house that needed attention. As a new home builder by trade, Tom sees the big picture--and doesn't just take the "quick fix" solution to patch the problem. He'll manage the entire project and will bring in experts as needed. We trust him with our home--and that says a lot! He's an honest, kind and hardworking craftsman.

Tom and Trudie are the best! The deck was one of two projects Troll House did for us. I swear, I think they could do just about anything! During these projects, we became friends. They are friendly, reasonable and hard workers! I'd hire them again if they wanted to come to Florida!

Does a nice job. Did some difficult wiring and he was the only one of the three contractors that spent time measuring and checking the house layout before giving me a bid.
