YACKY LANDSCAPING

We use Yacky Landscaping every other year, to maintain our landscape which they completed years ago.
We originally used Yacky Landscaping about 7 years ago to re-landscape our entire front and back yards.  They were prompt, accommodating and hardworking. 
Work included: yard clean up, new walkways, 2' high wraparound retaining walls, a new hardscape patio, french drains, new plantings of trees, shrubs and flowers and mulching.  
We loved the work they were doing at the time, so much, that we were recommending them to others before they even completed the job!
This was a big job and it was completed in a very timely manner.
In addition, Alfonso, the owner, would respond to every request with "no problem" and then follow through.
And, their prices are extremely fair.
Even though it's been years since the redo, people still stop in front of our house to tell us how wonderful it looks!

It was a good price and they did a good job. I will use them again.

Everything went well. They were professional and courteous, we just weren't ready to start the project yet.

I had originally planned on doing this project myself, but simply ran out of time in the season to get it done. Looking back, this was clearly more involved than I had thought, and required professionals to get it done in reasonable time, and above all, correctly. When I called Mr. Valasquez (the owner), I left a voice mail, and he responded within an hour. We set up an appointment for an estimate within a day. Once I had selected Yacky, they were on the project within a week. The only delay in completion was due to the brick supplier being out of the colors I had selected, hardly the fault of Yacky. I had a pretty clear idea what I wanted, but Mr. Valasquez had some good suggestions, which included building up soil in a flower bed between the front walkway and the house for better drainage, and curving the front walkway for better esthetics. (Had I done it myself, I had planned on merely duplicating the straight lines and right angle of the old concrete and used a simple basketweave pattern that would have been much less labor intensive. His way was more complex, but far better; the result looks fantastic!) They also dug out a good 6" base for the walk, so the brick is on a solid 4" base of gravel and paving sand. As for cost, Yacky was over $1000 less than the nearest competitor's bid, and came in right at the estimate. Overall this was a great experience, and shows that some seemingly simple jobs really are best left to professionals. Mr. Valasquez and his crew certainly are that.

The overall experience and workmanship was good and I would use this company again for future work. There was some difficulty with when the workers were suppose to get started and when they actually showed up. The work had been postponed due to rain and another job taking longer however they did not call me, but rather I had to call them. This is my only complaint that I have. The owner is very knowledgeable about landscaping and had some suggestions that were different than our landscape planning specific to a placement of a planting bed and proper drainage. The flow of water when it rains occurs exactly where he said it would. I recommend.

Their were a few days when I wondered if the crew was coming, sometimes they'd show up at 8 am and others noon. Maybe they had other jobs to do before coming but it wasn't addressed. The workers did not always pick up after themselves (i.e. cans, wrappers etc.) but for the price it was overlooked. The work went quickly (just shy of two weeks) and we have had numerous inquiries on our landscaping from visitors and people driving by. All in all it was a wonderful addition to our home and we were delighted to see our vision come to life.

Alfonso was extremely responsive. We received a verbal quote the same day of the request. The price for the retaining wall was competitive. Alfonso and a co-worker were professional to deal with. The weather turned while they built the wall, and they continued to work full days despite cold weather and snow. They shoveled the drive and offered to fix a leaking gutter that was causing ice to build on the driveway. I would definitely recommend them -- they were competitively priced, great to work with and we're very pleased with the wall.

Alfonso has always been punctual and really takes pride in his work. There was one day where he couldn't make it and wasn't able to get ahold of me - he showed up the next morning (Saturday) at 7:00 AM and began work. He's good about follow-up and he really knows his stuff. He spent a bunch of years working at a local nursery so he is very familiar with Wisconsin plants and trees, he was able to plant a Magnolia tree for us and we're very happy with the results.

Alfonso's team installed my patio and raised beds within 2 days. He did so to my exact specifications. Later when we noticed a bump in the patio, Alfonso fixed it himself the next day. Since then I have used him on several landscaping and home maintenance projects including gutters, outdoor painting and lawncare. I have also used him for projects at my job-the Fondy Farmers Market-where his team has built stalls, landscaped and fixed concrete. He is always prompt, courteous and works quickly. He is also very reasonably priced. He offers a broad range of services.

I called Alfonso, and he came out the same day to give an estimate. There were several problems with the pitch of the land that he thought he would be able to deal with when installing the patio. His original estimate was $2000. He said he could start next week. He started the following week as scheduled and completed the project within 4 days. He originally estimated it to take 3. Because the project took a bit more time and was a little more complicated than he anticipated, he asked for an additional $500 which I gave him. Later we discovered some problems with the patio: stones which were loose and an awkward dip. He sent his crew out immediately to fix it. When they could not, Alfonso came out himself to fix the problem essentially laying all the stones and bricks again. He said he couldn't sleep unless we felt happy. And we did feel happy after Alfonso remedied the problems. It looks beautiful now. He checked back a month later to make sure I was still happy.
