Wisconsin Firewood & Melvin Mulch LLC

We've been buying our firewood from Wisconsin Firewood for many years, and have been consistently pleased with the results. They've always been on schedule, dropped the wood in the correct place, etc. This year for the first time we paid to have them stack the cord of wood we purchased. The two guys who came out could not have been more professional, friendly, or courteous. They actually exceeded our expectations by collecting the odd pieces and putting them in (our) buckets for us to use for kindling ... and then swept the driveway! One note: I'd recommend staying away from the "mixed hardwoods" - it burns OK, but you'll get all kinds of odd shapes that can be difficult to stack. It's well worth paying the extra money for a specific wood mix such as "oak/ash" which comes in very uniformly sized pieces.

Quality mixed hardwood. Worth it to get the kiln dried. Clean mix of wood, nice consistent piece size perfect for fires. No pieces too large, no junk wood. If you’re looking for firewood shop no further, save your time and money and buy from here.

No complaints they arrived when they said they would and put the mulch exactly where expected the self service firewood are is very convenient

Firewood delivered was mainly old and dead. 20% was wood splinters and chips unusable in a fireplace.

I did an online order on 5/4/16 for mulch to be delivered in the morning on Thursday, May 26, 2016. I received an email confirmation that evening which included a copy of the information I submitted on the web order. The first thing I saw was that my credit card number was included in the email. I quickly dashed off a message telling them I wasn't pleased and that they opened my credit card for anyone to hack me. I also told them that they need to correct their website. On Friday, May 5, 2016 we came home to find 5 yards of mulch in front of our garage door. There is no way that I can get my car out until the mulch is moved. We had no plans to mulch for Mother's Day but we will have to in order to get both cars in and out of the garage. WE had been Wisconsin Firewood and Melvin Mulch customers for many years but we will not longer do business with them going forward.

I called their office, discussed my options and made an order for a half cord of Cherry firewood.  It was delivered when it was scheduled, I paid $60 extra to have it stacked.  All went well, nice experience all the way around. I will use them again, no need to look further.

For me the big selling point was Melvin's clearly posted prices online. I went to 5 different landscaping website and I couldn't find prices for delivery of mulch. My guess they want to get you on the phone since their first order of business is not supply mulch, but to offer landscaping services.
I ordered the 5 yards of mulch via Melvin's handy web form around noon on Thursday. Friday morning at 8:15am I got a confirmation call saying they'd deliver it that day. The delivery driver said they didn't happen to be very busy but I was impressed by the turnaround.
The mulch was free of trash, bugs, and other non-mulch items and looks great. I went with their cheapest mulch but even though they had more expensive types none of it seemed very expensive.

the shredded bark was provided on time promised.  It was high quality.  The driver did an excellent job in placement of the pile on our driveway.
