The workers arrived at the house on time as promised.  All work was done well up until they reached the cathedral ceiling.  They got through half the ceiling when my husband and I heard a very loud noise above us.  looking up we saw a crack in the cathedral ceiling.   Tony, the owner, arrived on scene a few hours later, the work had been stopped. He said that I was to contact my insurance company and he will cover the cost of the repairs. and left the premises. hours later the crack became larger and we called him to come over to do something about the ceiling before it falls and destroys our living room.
Mr. Leiner came over and proceeded to make a makeshift prop with 2x4's and said that this should hold it until insurances take care of it. Every time after that any phone conversations with either myself or my husband he became very angry and brash. telling us to shut up, suck it up and other things like that. he threatened us with a lawyer etc.... His professionalism is very poor and was unwilling to help with the repairs.
We got quotes for the repair at $4200 range and we went after his insurance company. His insurance company came over and gave us a check for 1/2 the total cost of the repair and said thats all we get. I had to make a claim against my home owners insurance which covered nothing. In the end. My quoted Insulation job from this company ended up costing me themoney I paid him to do the job (minus 500 for not finishing)  and all the costs that was not covered by his insurance company which equaled out to the same cost of the original contract. so I paid 4k for a 2k insulation job.
6 months later we finally got the ceiling fixed by another company and are back to normal life. I just made my last of 6 payments to the restoration company this month. I spoke to mr leaner to ask when will I expect some repayment for the total of what I paid to fix my ceiling and was verbally threatened. but he did sen me 2 checks for $150 and will not pay any more.
Please make sure they verify that they are fully insured and we now have learned a new term to use when in a situation like this. You must tell the insurance adjustors I want it returned to whole.
I suggest you steer far away from this company, their business practices are that of any other crooked company you may see on the news and his customer relation skill are horrible.
Response from Whole House Insulation Installers
"The ceiling did crack when we were filling the slopes of the ceiling. We have done six other units this same way no damage. We found this property to be constructied differently. So with this we gave tehm our insurance co info. The homeowners sign a general release form on Feb 20th 2015 for $1935.10 for all damages. Homeowner then called me and said cost was greater so I made for donation payments of $150.00 each = $600.00. This was a true accident. I feel we went to the extreme to help with this accident. pd 150.00 8/21/15 pd 150.00 9/4/15 pd 150.00 9/28/15 pd 150.00 10/21/15 Thank you, Tony"

Whole House Insulation was great to work with.  They were right on time for both the estimate and the installation appointment and stayed in touch to make everything go smoothly.  Tony looked over our home inspection report, looked around the attic and outside of the house, and came up with a straightforward estimate without trying to up-sell us on other services they could provide.  When the day of the installation came, his employees were professional and got the job done more quickly than we expected.  They made it a point to put the roof vents on a less visible part of the roof which was definitely appreciated.  We would definitely use them again

Excellent. Tony initially came out to the house to provide an estimate. He was extremely knowledgeable and forthcoming with information. He did not try to oversell me anything. Rather, after inspecting the attic spaces, he came up with a plan on how to best insulate the house. Initially, we were going to insulate the house to R-50. I brought up the idea of possibly going higher to R-60. Tony said that would work as well. However, he advised me that going up in R value any further would likely not translate to any further energy savings. Tony's guys came out to the house on the day and time that they were expected. They were professional and were really good about limiting any mess. I highly recommend this company and would use them again.

All we got was a estimate. Didn’t perform the duties that were included in the description. He completely forgot to send the estimate. Was here very short time and did not do much other than talk.

I purchased the big deal on Angies List.  We purchased the deal because we have high electric bills year round.  They range from $300-$500/month.  We have a brand new high effeciency propane furnace and new AC unit.  We figured the only reasonable explanation is the lack of insulation in the house. |I was actually pleasantly surprised at how he said my house was very well built and well insulated.  From the stove hood in the winter you can feel the cold air pouring from it.  The dishes in the cabinet next to the stove hood are freezing.  I actually have to warm them up in the microwave before using them or the food turns cold real fast!  Pathetic!  I made it quite clear that this was a major source of contention.  He went on the roof and said the cap for the vent hood needed replaced.  We planned on doing this in the summer.  So, this past summer we had a handyman come out to check it out.  I actually stuffed a whole bunch of insulation in the vent hood over the stove and have not been using it for years.  We took out the insulation and turned it on.  Turns out it vents out the side of the house off the sunroom not through the roof.  He said it needs insulation in the wall above the cabinets and hood(don't know what you call that).  The cabinets don't go all the way to the ceiling, their is about 16inches between the cabinets and ceiling he said we would have to remove the drywall and put insulation throughout the whole area. |     I just saw on the news where a company(didn't catch the name) does a similar inspection for $100.  But, they use an infrared camera to figure out exactly where the heat is being lost.  I wish I had gone with someone else that did that.  While I felt WH Insul. was very honest I think it was a waste of money.  The so called report is a joke.  Consists of a few sentences.

Tony contacted me after leaving a message for him and let me know he'd write up an estimate. He left it for me and he quickly arranged a time to do the work. His crew came and got right to work. I left and returned and the leader of the crew told me they were having a difficult time getting any insulation in the walls due to previously blown in material. They adjusted the price for what they were able to blow in and cleaned up nicely. I appreciated their honesty. They could have easily told me they blew in the entire amount they had planned, but they stopped to tell me the truth about what was happening.

I own an older duplex (1930's) and wanted the exterior walls of the upper/rental unit re-insulated. The old insulation in the walls was practically non-existent.  Right from the start, Tony was very friendly and explained everything thoroughly.  I liked his work ethic and was happy to do business with him.  His crew arrived on time and worked the entire day and completed the job.  The machine that pumps the insulation into the walls was much quieter than I thought it would be.  I was home the entire day and was not inconvenienced by the crew or the equipment.  When the job was complete we walked around the house and I was impressed by the great clean-up job they did.  If I had to do something like this again I would certainly contact them.

I contacted Tony based on Angie's list recommendations. He called the next day. We set up an appointment.
He is enthusiastic about his work. He checked the entire house, outside and inside, then the attic and gave us a recommendation for our attic insulation along with placing insulation around a shower ceiling fan, whose can is in the attic area, and an additional quote if we wanted to do some work in the future. (Options are a good thing). We scheduled the work, his guys arrived, set up, did the work, finished, cleaned up and were gone.
Tony called for a follow up with us to see how everything went.
Overall, an excellent experience. We recommended him to our neighbor.
P.S. he suggested we give them our digital camera for before and after photos...Awesome!!!

Very knowlegeable, very helpful & very patient. Reviewed his findings with me & explained everything very thoroughly. Discovered a problem with my bathroom venting during his attic inspection & arranged to repair that for me. Provided me with a written quote for some recommended insulation upgrades I hope to have done in the near future.

The vendor, Tony Leiner, contacted us shortly after we purchased the Big Deal, and set up an appointment within a few days. On the date of the appointment, he called prior to his scheduled time and asked if it was OK to arrive early.  He spent about 35 minutes conducting the inspection, which included the attic and basement, and answering numerous questions.    Happily, he reported that our property had sufficient attic insulation and no signs of rodent damage or water damage.  He offered several suggestions on steps we could take to further improve the overall insulation, such as a bit more insulation in the basement near windows and an extension of attic exhaust piping, but although it was work he could do, he did not feel these steps were essential.  We asked about the potential of improving insulation quality in a breezeway area, but he advised against it because the cost would far outweigh the benefit.   He was very patient and courteous, did not rush through the inspection at all.  He did not attempt to "sell" us any additional insulation work, which is one reason we would suggest his name to others looking for a contractor for this work category!  Our only regret was not asking for a written statement from him confirming the inspection results.

Based on his inspection, Tony provided information on what insulation was needed and not needed to receive the best energy savings. He was informative. The work crew answered my questions and did a great job in installing the insulation and cleanup.   Everything went smoothly.

Tony called to set up the appointment, he was very professional during the call and service, he arrived on time and inspected the entire house, he actually gave positive comments on the existing house insulation and did not find something major to worry about.
He did not try to sell me anything since the house looked good. He made  one recommendation.  I will definitely use his service again .

We didn't learn anything new. The initial response was excellent, and the inspection was done fairly promptly and thoroughly. Unfortunately, our report was sent to someone else by mistake, so not only did it take longer to receive, but someone else now has our information. I feel like this was a waste of money.
