THE JUNK SQUAD

Easy to call these people, you get a person, not a machine. They made an appointment 3-4 days after the call. Two guys arrived promptly with a small truck. They eyeballed our junk and off the top of their heads, come up with an estimate. They gave me an estimate of $140, but accepted a mailer coupon that I had for $20 off. I thought the price was on the high side, but was dying to get rid of the stuff and did not feel like canvassing. They took 10 minutes to throw it all into the back of the truck. Overall, I'd say it is an expensive but convenient service.

This company responded promptly and even allowed me to reschedule without question. They were prompt, polite, professional and very careful. The price was for 3/4 of the huge truck capacity. All of this was done in less than one hour. Many years of accumulation had resulted in the need for removal of old, broken, unused stuff which was just removed efficiently and quickly.

OVERALL, I WAS DISAPPOINTED SINCE I WAS PREPARED TO LOVE THIS ORGANIZATION, BEING AMUSED BY THEIR WEBSITE WWW.JUNKSQUAD.COM. ONE OF THE THINGS THAT I LIKED WAS THEIR PROMISE TO SORT THROUGH THE JUNK TO DETERMINE WHAT WAS OK FOR DONATION TO CHARITY, COULD BE RECYCLED, AND WAS TRULY JUNK FOR THE LANDFILL. WHEN THEY DIDN'T SHOW UP AS SCHEDULED, I LEFT AN AMUSING MESSAGE ON THEIR WEB SITE ABOUT HOW DISAPPOINTED MY JUNK WAS. THEY WERE VERY APOLOGETIC AND, TO MAKE UP FOR THE NO SHOW, THEY SAID THEY'D CHARGE ME HALF PRICE. THE TWO GUYS WHO CAME, THOUGH POLITE, JUST THREW MY STUFF IN THE TRUCK. NOT ONLY DID THAT BLOW MY CONFIDENCE THAT THEY WERE GOING TO SORT THROUGH AND GET THINGS TO THE PROPER PLACE, IT ALSO MADE IT HARD TO SEE HOW MUCH SPACE MY JUNK TOOK UP. SO, EVEN THOUGH I GOT CHARGED HALF PRICE, THEY SAID MY STUFF TOOK MORE SPACE THAN I THOUGHT. IT DIDN'T SEEM LIKE SUCH A GREAT DEAL. LATER, I REMEMBERED THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO TELL ME THE COST BEFORE THEY EVEN LOADED THE TRUCK.
