SPEEDWAY SALES & SERVICE

I contacted the Speedway Sales at 16600 W Cleveland Ave (just 1 mile from my home). I was told turn around time would be 1.5 to 2 weeks depending upon parts availablitiy. I agreed to $45 for pick up and delivery and on 04-22-10 Speedway picked up my riding mower just one day after I called them. On 05-11-10 I was still waiting for any word from Speedway so I called for an update. I was told that Speedway made an error and nodoby even looked at my riding mower. They promised they would look at it immediately and call me back later that day or the next with more information. Nobody ever called. By 05-14-10 I heard nothing and went to the store in person. I was told the spring and cable have been ordered. By 05-25-10 I had heard nothing and called Speedway again. I was told the part was now on back order and they hoped to have my mower back to me by 05-28-10 (end of the week). End of the week came and went, no mower, no call. By 06-02-10, still no word from Speedway. I called again and was told they are still waiting on a part. Finally on 06-04-10 my mower was completed and delivered. I explained that the very least that could be done was to waive the $45 deliver fee (given the problems along with my home being 1 mile away!). I was told the best they would do is cut the delivery fee in half. Speedway tried to blame the entire delay on the back order of the part. A well run repair business would look at the job coming in and order parts while working on current jobs, not wait until you need a part, order it and wait. I will NEVER take anything back to Speedway. Go luck if you choose to. You have been warned.

I took it in two weeks ago today, explained it's an old mower, and that I didn't want to go high (not over $60.) on the costs, that I'd sooner buy a new one. They said they'd call, if it went over a hundred. I said to call regardless of the price. Today I went in and the total price was $106. There gave no explanation as to why I wasn't called. When I said, they said they'd call if the price was over a hundred, the clerk knocked the price down to 96.50. (I could have gotten a new mower for $139.) I told the clerk I am not happy about this.

Their pricing is outstanding! The equipment while not brand new, worked well and was well maintained. We rented it for 2 hours.

The work was promised in 1-1/2 weeks, but was completed in less When I picked it up, I was advised that the snowblower could use new blades in the future, but for now it operates satisfactorily.

AFTER WE HAD THE FIRST REPAIR IT DIED WITHIN A WEEK. WE SENT IT BACK TO REPAIR AND IT TOOK 1.5 WEEKS TO GET IT BACK BECAUSE THEY HAD FORGOTTEN ABOUT US. THEY DID ADMIT THAT THEY HAD FORGOTTEN TO INSTALL A CORRECT PART AT THE TIME OF THE TUNE UP. HOWEVER, THEY DID DO THE SECOND REPAIR FOR FREE.

THE SHARPENING TOOK 3 WEEKS INSTEAD OF THE WEEK AND A HALF PROMISED. BLADES SEEM ADEQUATELY SHARPENED, BUT MOWER NEEDED OILED WHEN RETURNED TO ME.
