I have been taking my car to Sid's for a variety of repairs, both big and small over the years.  The prices he has on oil changes are competitive.  But what I really like is that they treat me well overall. For instance, I went in for an oil change and mentioned that I couldn't see half my dash because a light was out.  They fixed it at no charge for me. 
They also give an accurate assessment of whether a repair is urgent, should be done soon, or can wait for a while. 
My struts weren't urgent, but since they are a fairly costly item, and affect how my car drives, I got the front ones done at my last visit. 
I appreciate the good communication from Sid's and the fact that I have never been charged for a repair I didn't really need.  
These guys are honest.  I can't say that about many mechanics.
My only thing is that I sometimes want them to be more aggressive in investigating and telling me about things I should fix in the future. I am keeping this car until the doors fall off, so I want to know if there are things I can do to extend the life of the car and my own comfort in it for at least a few years more.  When prompted, I got this info, but I would have liked to talk about it each time I visit.  This is a minor issue though.

I went in to Sid's because he had done services for me before, including looking at my brakes and changing oil.
This time, I was expecting a big bill because there was oil on my garage floor. I made an appointment and got in within a day or 2. I left my car there for the day and went to work, expecting a call about a bill for hundreds of dollars. Instead, Sid told me that the issue was simply a seal, and that they could replace it for a minimal cost. I told him that would be great and authorized up to $100, thinking I got away with a cheap repair.
When I went to pick up my car, I was told that my total was $11.00. They didn't even charge me for the labor or diagnostics or anything but the part.
I find the people at Sid's to be very honest and forthright, which I really value in a mechanic. They could spiff up their customer area, but if that would increase prices, I am fine with the way it is! A great neighborhood shop!

They've always been professional and always have given me repair options
for larger repairs, even talking me out of certain repairs that didn't
make sense given the age/condition of the car. I'd recommend Sid's to
anyone requiring repairs or maintenance of a used vehicle.

I walked in to see if they had availability for an oil change and was able to come back first thing the following morning. I went off their positive reviews on Angie's List and am very happy I did.
The oil change was done timely and for a very reasonable cost, but the kicker for me was a couple of weeks later my check engine light came on and they did testing to evaluate what the issue was, if any, right when I walked in, for no charge.
They explained what set off the light and what to look for down the road...very informative.
This will be my go to for any needs my car has!

As usual, prompt and professional service. Can't compare price with anyone else.

He is really good. I can trust them, especially as a woman going in there. I've never felt like they've ripped me off or anything and the work has always been done properly.

My minivan had a safety recall from Ford. The dealer "magically" found a number of other things wrong with my vehicle besides the safety recall repair. Rather that pay Ford's prices, I took the vehicle to Sid's. It turns out, none of the repairs Ford said were needed were necessary. Sid could have easily performed the repairs and taken my money, but he didn't. Another time, I took my daughter's car in for an oil change, not realizing she had taken it in a week earlier. Again, Sid could have easily taken my money. Instead, he called and let me know an oil change was not needed. His honesty guarantees he will have a customer for life in our family and our 3 vehicles.
