I would not recommend this company at all and wished I had read other people's comments before I did. At first Greg the owner was great with having 800 free quote and being able to complete the work the very next week after I called. The following Monday, I called Greg and he said Friday would work which he did show up to around 3PM because he had a busy morning. He was able to put in a light switch in my living room but did not put in a light fixture because I did not have a complete light fixture, which I had sent a picture to him before he came to tell him that I wanted a specific one that I had put in) he therefore left one of his yellow working light bulbs and told me he would go to the store to get the light fixture part that would fit and put it in the very next morning. However, before he left he checked the wiring in the bathroom to put in an outlet and exhaust fan and said that it would probably be more expensive than he quoted me. I was alright with the increase as long as it was done correctly. He then left with the wires exposed in my bathroom because he took the light switch off and said he would not be able to put it back on without getting a shrink tool since the wires were so crammed in. He never came back no matter how many times he said he was going to and after I had given him $400 cash, he only wanted hard cash. I am still trying to get my light cover which I lent him to measure the light fixture he was going to buy. Again do not do business with him!

This contractor fails to show up and work. Over the course of two months he worked a total of 5 days. My phone records show I logged 28 calls requesting Greg provide a date he would work. Many promises were made. I grew frustrated by my inability to get a firm promise that would be honored concerning him showing up. My other sub-contractors were growing annoyed over the lack of electrical progress which was holding up their work. It took 8 different requests to have a building permit pulled which finally occurred 7 weeks after Greg started work. Requests for lien waivers were acknowledged but never provided. Oddly whenever Greg made a request for an interim payment he would say he was working 10 minutes away on another job and could come right away, which was true. He cam fast to pick up checks and then departed with no work being done. I completely gave up and hired a different electrician after two long months had passed.

I called Greg Pipito from a card left on my electrical panel. He had been the original installer. After discussing my need for a 240V outlet in my detached garage, he asked me to send pictures. I did, and further discussed the chase that runs from underground from the house to the garage allowing him to snake the new lines without too much effort and the fact that we would need to drill through the garage concrete floor to reach the chase. He called back and quoted a price of $350, which was below what I had bench-marked. We agreed on a date and that he would call back with an exact time. He called the night before and mentioned a start time. He had additional questions, and asked for additional pictures, which I immediately sent. He called back and said the work was more complicated that he thought. New price $500. I agreed. Still a fair price. Next day, he called approx 30 min before arrival to confirm. On arrival he inspected the work and decided that he again underestimated the work and the new price would be $800. At this point he was more expensive than I thought was correct and more expensive than benchmark price. I didn't want to start the process of finding an electrician again, and I needed the work done ASAP, so I agreed. Signed contract, and gave $400 deposit. He would now come back the next day with additional tools and supplies. Next day, he arrived as promised late in the day and put in approx 2-3 hours exploring and drilling the hole through garage floor to reach the horizontal chase to the house. Left for the day 5pm-ish. Next day, he texted to say that the work was more time consuming than expected and the new price would be $1100. I had also suggested a hour of additional work and he quoted that at an additional $500 for a total of $1600. When I balked at the additional cost, and he said that I had clearly never hired an electrician before. I asked what he expected his billing rate to be and what had changed since yesterday. He replied that he works by the job and had no answer for that changed. I replied that if so, he had ample opportunities to quote the job before he started and he should honor the price we agreed and signed on. Blah, blah, blah back and forth. I told him not to come back. That he should bill me for the for the work done and I would pay him for that, forgetting that I already paid a $400 deposit. For reference, I finished the job myself in an additional 3 hours. Also for reference, I expect the billing rate for an electrician to be $70-100/hr. This job also included about $200 of materials/supplies. I clearly cannot speak to his electrical work, since he did not do any, but his lack of professionalism was very disturbing.

When i first called Reliable electrical, it was for just the work on the garage. Greg, the owner, was able to meet me within 48 hours to look at what work was required for the garage. I explained to him what i would like to have done, and he also suggested some additional work that he would also perform to correct some items that were not safe. At that time Greg was able to provide an estimate for the work, an estimate of how long it would take, and when the work could be performed. Before the work started i decided that i needed to have the subpanel installed. I was able to text pictures of what existed, and was able to ask for suggestions on what could be done. Greg provided me a few options, and after agreeing on what would be the best solution, he again was able to quote me a price, and this work would be done at the same time as the garage. On the day the service was planned to be performed, Greg and his helper showed up at the time agreed upon, which was nice because i was able to meet him during my lunch break, and not have to miss any work. Later that day after returning back from work, Greg took a few minutes to explain what work was done during the day, and certain areas to be careful of. The next day, not sure of the time they arrived, because i was at work. However, when i returned from work that day, the work was complete, and Greg took the time to show me the work preformed, and gave me time to inspect the work. During the time that i was around while they were working the site was always kept clean and organized. In addition to that Greg also took the time to correct some of the electrical issues within the main service panel, and some other electrical issues, that were not in scope. I am definitely very happy with the work, price, and professionalism that Reliable Services Electrical Contractors provided, and have already recommended them to several of the people at work.
Description of Work: Needed a detached garage disconnect replaced with a 100 amp service panel, some lighting circuit, outlets, and correct some previous not safe electrical work done. In addition to that work i needed a subpanel installed in the house.
