MY OVERALL EXPERIENCE WITH CHUCK MONTE AND QUALITY WORKS WAS NOT GOOD. HE QUOTED ME A PRICE OF $1000 (SIMILAR TO THE QUOTES I RECEIVED FROM TWO OTHER TOP RATED TILE INSTALLERS ON ANGIE'S LIST.) I CHOSE CHUCK BECAUSE HE WAS RECOMMENDED BY THE TILE COMPANY AND BECAUSE THE OTHER COMPANY COULDN'T DO THE JOB WITHIN MY TIME FRAME. ANYWAY, HE QUOTED ME $1000 (IN WRITING). THE JOB WAS SUPPOSED TO TAKE A WEEK. IT TOOK THEM 3, AND HE KEPT TELLING ME THE FLOOR WASN'T LEVEL. (OTHERS WHO BID THE JOB SAID THE FLOOR LEVEL WAS FINE.) AT COMPLETION, HE CAME TO ME WITH A LIST OF HOURS HE SAID HIS CREW WORKED AND WANTED ME TO PAY APPROXIMATELY $2200 FOR THE JOB! I FELT SORRY FOR HIM AND ENDED UP PAYING HIM $1800 FOR A JOB THAT HE QUOTED ME $1000! I SHOULD HAVE MY HEAD EXAMINED FOR DOING THIS. ALSO, HE CONSISTENTLY FOUND FAULT WITH THE WORK OF THE OTHER CONTRACTORS (CARPENTERS, PLUMBERS, ELECTRICIANS) WHILE BOASTING ABOUT THE ''MASTERPIECE'' WORK HE DOES.
Description of Work: APPROXIMATELY 135 SQUARE FEET OF 12" X 12" MARBLE TILE INSTALLED IN LOWER BATH AND TUB SURROUND. BASIC SQUARE PATTERN.
