The work was excellent. Workman were professional and thorough. Very easy to work with. They cleaned up every day, were on time every morning and made sure I was happy with every surface they touched.
It is a 90 year old home and they took the time to fix holes and cracks and even fixed an area by filling in where the hinges of an old door were. Can't tell it had ever been there.

Such a good experience with O'Brien. The quote was very competitive and the work outstanding. The crew showed up on time every day, they were very courteous and friendly, and they finished the job in less time than I expected. I forgot to mention that we were not going to use the existing window hardware in one room and that all of the nail holes from previous owner's wall art could be filled in. They removed hardware, filled in holes and painted over them with no complaints. The wallpaper proved tricky to remove, but they figured it out and did a great job. All of the rooms look perfect. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again or recommend them to someone else.

Very happy with the work they did for us. Will be using them again in the future. Pricing is good, work is superior and whole crew was easy to work with (plus on time every day).

Required services for both and interior plaster and paint repair - they did a fabulous job!! Colin warned me that it might be difficult to match the molding, but it was done beautifully. Painted exterior trim on a rather large old home. There was significant prep work and some wood repair required. Colin was upfront about any of the challenges and coordinated a carpenter to complete wood repairs. He was great to work with and his bid was very competitive with the other two bids we got. His crew was easy to have around for the 4 week project. They were tolerant of our dogs and kids and very respectful of our time a space.

Our window trim was a mess because a previous owner had painted latex over oil or something - it was chipping, flaking, not adhering. Colin knew exactly what the problem was and how to fix it. He's the smartest painter I have ever worked with and I have worked with many. But I will never work with anyone but Colin from now on. The other great thing about Colin is that he is PROFESSIONAL - he schedules your job for a certain time and day, and then he actually shows up at exactly that time! I've had this experience several times with him and I really could not ask for a better painter. I recommend him without reservation. Beautiful work and I think the prices are reasonable.

Provided scope of work to both O'Brien (Colin) and another Angie's list painting company which I had previously used. Although the price was higher, Colin's attention to detail and the depth to which he explained the work was very impressive. In particular, he explained how he would approach the painting in the windows since the cracked/peeling paint could potentially pose a lead hazard. I wanted to make sure he understood the importance of keeping the work contained since we'd be moving in with two children. Colin assured me that his background in lead abatement would be used to properly encapsulate any lead paint that might be contained where he was painting. For example, he would wet sand and not dry sand the paint he was painting over. Colin was extremely professional, responsive and detail-oriented. His feedback on colors was very helpful given his experience, and also came in very handy when my husband had to take over color selection. The work took a little longer than expected because we kept on adding new items to the scope of work. Fortunately, the work was done in early May before their workload was heavy so Colin was able to make room in their schedule for the crew to work a couple of extra days. The outcome, including final colors, was excellent. We have recommended O'Brien Painting to others and we just signed our second contract with Colin. We look forward to having them paint the rest of our home, both inside and out!

Colin was prompt to respond, professional, and the smartest painter I have ever encountered. He explained exactly how he would make the trim look as I wanted it, and he helped me choose shades so that I would match the room decor well. His experience with faux finishes and deep red colors meant that he could recommend the exact color I would need for my faux finish and he was right on!
