North American Glass Block

THEY ARRIVED ON TIME & READY TO WORK. IT TURNED OUT BEAUTIFULLY. ALSO PUT 1 DRYER VENT & 2 AIR VENTS. IT LOOKS GREAT. THEY ARRIVED BEFORE 10AM & WAS DONE SHORTLY AFTER 2PM. THEY CLEANED UP AFTER THEMSELVES.

North American quoted most competitively, explained what they would do, and matched our needs exactly. Three craftsmen arrived on the arranged date and professionally installed the glass block panels with vents. They worked quickly and did an excellent job. They did a good job of cleaning up after their work.

I am well pleased with the work that was done. The windows look great. They came right on time, 3 guys came, put in 5 glass block windows, and only took 3 hours. They cleaned up very well outside, but I did find some chunks of glass in the basement and had to clean up alittle behind them, but all in all they were great. Milwaukee Glass Block did have a slightly better price, but North American uses Pittsburgh Corning windows, which is a better window, and since its NOT rental property, I went with them. Glad I did! Great job guys!!!!!

Even though this was several years ago, the memory of the experience is still with me. When the installation crew arrived the lead person informed me that the estimator had measured the windows incorrectly and they all left. After making a second 1/2 day appointment for the installation crew (may have been the same, can't remember) arrived to install a 2nd set of windows. There was much banging and hammering. I paid. They left. Not the end of the story. The newly sized windows were at least an inch smaller than the window openings all around. The gap between window and wall had been filled with concrete which developed multiple hairline cracks within days. There were good sized (1-3 inch) gouges and chips in the painted cement block on the sides and bottom of the window openings. (They used, and damaged, my best cement broom cleaning up.) The installation crew seemed rushed and stressed. The owner (also the estimator above) came out to take a look some time later after I complained about the cracks and, of course, told me that all was well. The basement has less natural light than I expected and the windows look...undersized. This company may have improved over the years but I would be cautious and insist on a detailed estimate including finished sizes.

Dale came to my house to give me an estimate on the work and called a few days later to tell me when he would be able to do the work (which was within a week). He and his assistant arrived exactly on time and completed the work in about two hours. I used this company several years ago when I had some basement windows repalced with glass block. I was very satisfied with their work then as I was this time.

Dale and his associate showed up exactly when they said they would; completed the job in about two hours. I did have to repaint some of the woodwork around the window but that was expected. I have used this company before for basement glass block windows. I was happy with their work and service before and was happy this time also. I wold definitely recommend them.

The work was very good. I was not as happy with the clean up, but I would use again. They were very prompt and finished in a timely manner.

The installers were prompt and polite. The work was done well and they cleaned up after themselves.

THEY WERE A LITTLE LATE ON COMING TO INSTALL WINDOW. THEY WERE MESSY ON DOING THE JOB. THERE WAS A SMALL HOLE LEFT IN THE CEMENT THAT SURROUNDED THE WINDOW.

NOW THAT I SEE HOW THE WOOD LOOKS, I DON'T LIKE THE WAY IT LOOKS, AND I WANT TO GET IT REMOVED. I'M WILLING TO PAY SOME MONEY TO TAKE CARE OF THIS, BUT HE'S TELLING ME IT'S NOT POSSIBLE. I'VE SPOKEN TO OTHER CONTRACTORS WHO TOLD ME IT COULD BE DONE, BUT HE IS UNWILLING TO WORK WITH ME TO GET THE ISSUE RESOLVE. THE GLASS BLOCK EXTENDS OUT OF THE FRAME, SO IT STICKS OUT PAST THE ORIGINAL WOOD FRAME. I'M JUST NOT HAPPY WITH THE WAY IT LOOKS, AND WOULD LIKE TO WORK WITH HIM TO RESOLVE IT.

I CALLED THEM AND THEY CAME OUT THE NEXT DAY. THEY WERE PROMPT AND EFFICIENT AND HONORED A $10.00 COUPON I FOUND IN THE NEWSPAPER. I LOVE MY GARAGE WINDOW. THEY HAD TOLD ME THEY WOULD ARRIVE ON A THURSDAY IN THE AFTERNOON BUT THEY WERE THERE AT 10 AM.

THE WORK WAS GOOD. I WAS PLEASED.
