Hours of operation were not consumer friendly. I guess that is because they work with contractors.

Initially, we felt very good about the product and the service. The process of choosing and ordering the countertops was fine, the options were plentiful and the salesperson was very nice. We chose to have them measure for the countertops AFTER our cabinets were installed to be certain that they would fit. The person who did the measuring was very courteous and careful in measuring. Our contractor oversaw the installation and there were no concerns that we were aware of. Initially, we were so excited simply to have countertops again (it had been months in remodel project) we didn't take note of the edge; however, we soon realized that there was no overhang "lip" -- it was pretty much flush with the cabinetry. However, the "flush" line was not perfect -- some areas had a 3mm overhang so because the rest of the counter was flush it was more obvious. Having no overhang means that when spills happen it goes immediately over the edge and on to the cabinets. My husband pointed this out to the contractor, but there was no follow-up. I hate to be a complainer and I assumed it was my fault for not specifying that we wanted a minimal overhang, so -- although we notified the contractor -- we did not make a fuss. Months later I lamented to a friend about the disappointment of spending $3700 on counters that didn't function well and required daily clean-up of our cabinets and I was told that the "industry standard overhang" was 1 1/2" from cabinet base to leave 1/2-inch overhang of the exposed end to protect the cabinets and make it easier to wipe crumbs off the edge of the counter. I sent an email to the sales person at Midwest Tops explaining our disappointment & with pictures, but never received any response at all. The counters LOOK beautiful from the top, but they function very poorly. It was the most expensive item per cubic foot in our remodel (our cabinets were $10K but obviously cover much more space) and it is the most disappointing because they did not communicate with us that they --apparently-- follow a different standard for the overhang.

I did the tear out and they did the install. Other than coming 3 hours early (better early than late) things went off with out a hitch. They worked around me since I was not completely ready for them. The counter tops were a High Def Laminate and look great. The 8ft section of butcher block was very nice as well. The install was done professionally and with an eye to detail. The butcher block is up against a flagstone wall, so a fair amount of carving and fitting had to be done in order to get it flush to the wall. They did a very nice job. I have used them in the past and will use them in the future.

I would definitely recommend them. They came out right away, they were there when they said they were going to be, and the work was a very good quality. I was very impressed.

Midwest Tops was very helpful from the start of the project from selecting the colors and edge profile to providing a sink. The quality of their work was the best in the area and they were very professional. I would recommend them to any of my friends.

They installed a new counter top. I was sold the Dupont Zodiac Quartz countertop. The style I got was white with grey and light crystal quartz spots in it. When I received the countertop it had two brown spots. They both were 3/16th inches in diameter, one spot was circular and one was rectangular. The installers came and I noticed the spots and asked if they were going to install it as is. They stated they would install and that they would let their boss know. The company that sold the countertop called and asked how I liked the counter top. I explained how I did not like the brown spots, so they sent someone from Midwest Tops to evaluate the spots. They repaired the spots by drilling them out and filling them and sanding them down. The result was two dull spots in the countertop. I called them back and they again stated they could fix it. When they did instead of fixing the two dull spots they created an even larger dull spot. I called them again and they stated they could fix it once again. They next solution was to dull the entire countertop. I had no idea they were going to do this and I was not here when they did this. All the repairs have done nothing, but to ruin this piece of quartz. The specialist from Midwest Tops was not so much a specialists, but a salesman. I explained to him that I have 30 years of experience in polishing stone and that what he was saying was wrong. He had nothing else to say and thought I should be happy with the countertop. Dean from Kitchen Saver Inc. came to collect for the countertop. He had brought samples with him and wanted to show me how the samples are flawed as well. I proceeded to count the flaws similar to his and he was taken back by the number flaws in my countertop. He then stated that the countertop looks fine and I should accept it. He became angry and starting raising his voice. He stated that if I knew so much; why I would not know that these countertops have flaws. I explained that I have done research for around two years and I have never seen any flaws in the countertops I have viewed in the showrooms. I wanted a 97% gray and clear quartz countertop. I understand that the sample can vary from the actual countertop. They are upfront about the small variations in the countertops, but the product contained far too many variations. I did not expect to have ‘blobs’ in the countertop. Dean had total knowledge of all the conversations I have had with all companies. When he left he offered 2.5% of the total cost. I found that small of discount to be insulting. I purchased a white (with tiny gray flecks) zodiac quartz countertop from a retailer. Midwest Tops was the fabricator on the job. A 7 foot x approximately 3 foot section had two almost black spots on it. Both measured 3/16 inches across. I was told that they could fix the flaws. Their first attempt involved drilling out the black flaws and filling the holes. That failed. The black still showed so they drilled bigger deeper holes to remove all the black foreign material plus the filing- then they refilled the holes and buffed. Now I had 2 gray spots surrounded by quarter sized dull spots. Attempt number two was to make the quarter sized dull spots disappear. That resulted in a 2 foot x 1 foot dull spot. The third attempt dulled the entire 7 foot length of countertop. It also left a 6 inch circular mark, 2 scratches and 2 rough areas. I was charged $8,228.00 for this damaged slab. The company walked away like the cat that swallowed the canary- quite proud of themselves. I on the other hand am not very impressed with their ethics.

They came and measured, then they actually called me and came back to measure again and make sure it was right. They took photos of the work site and were very professional. They were timely in the work and it didn't take very long. They are a whole seller, so you have to have a contractor with you to go into their show room. I felt the price was very reasonable and the quality of work is excellent. They cleaned up everything and were very careful about where they worked and tried not to make messes.

Every aspect of the project was outstanding. They worked through the planning very professionally, were always flexible and on-time, and did the work for much less than I had received bids on from other providers.
