I had an estimator come over to look over the project. He checked out the project and responded in a few days with a quote for the job. When the installers came over to do the work, they pointed out that an electrical line in the garage would prevent them for making the installation until this was corrected The old door was not operational; I needed to get this replacement made. So I asked to do the best they could and get the doors installed. When the conduit was moved to allow installation, it left powered wires exposed. I know I approved this, but why wasn't it included in the quotation and planned out ahead of time. It cost an additional $300 for my electrician to repair. After that, things seemed to go quite well for almost a year, Then in Nov 2016, one door failed to open. It was late so I waited to morning to schedule a repair. But it worked, so no appointment made. Then in December it failed again, and this time I made an appointment for a repair the next day. That morning the door was working again. So I called and it was agreed the appointment should be cancelled since it may not show the problem. Then in Jan it failed again and a second appointment was made. This time it didn't start working again. The repair crew arrived on time and checked the installation. They proceeded to tighten some bolts above the door. They also checked a tension adjustment on the two single door openers. One was set at 7,. The one controlling the door that didn't operate was set at 2. They adjusted it to 7 which they said was the normal position. A few days later I got a bill for the service call because they told me it was two weeks out of warranty. They did offer a discount off the normal rate. However if they would have checked their appointment schedule, they would have seen the second failure was actually in warranty period. I felt the the repair work they did to have been the result of a faulty installation. Why were those bolts loose above the door? Weren't they properly tightened at installation? Why was one door opener tension adjustment set so low compared to the other one? They were both the same make and model of openers, and the same garage door style. Did the original installers neglect to check this setting? I paid the bill and just wouldn't have them back again.

I called at around 11:30 am and told the girl who answered the phone( not very professionally I might add) that my oldest brother once worked for the owner and that he recommended them. I explained the problem and was told that she would make sure the owner got the message and that some one would be out to do the repair before 5 pm. My wife called me at work at 5 minutes after 5 and told me no one had come or called! I had her call the shop number and she said it was closed but was given a number for emergencies . She called that number and was told that no one had received the work order but, they would send someone out in a half hour. 45 minutes later a rep by the name of John showed up and apologized and discounted the service. This morning I received a message from the owners son who is the shop manager that the job was scheduled for today 7/27/2016 between 8am and Noon and that we got a discount when we should have been charged extra for an after hours repair. I never agreed to this set up and in fact was never told this. My work car was trapped in my garage and ended up asking a friend for a ride in to work on second shift. The owners son on the message made it sound like we lied to get it done sooner than it had been scheduled and that we ripped them off. I tried to call them back a number of times but both time it went directly to voice mail. I left a message explaining my side but still have not received a call back and it is now almost noon.

"Hello. I do apologize I never received a notification from Angies list we had a review until today from another review or this would have been addressed earlier. I can assure you that I was extremely professional answering the phones and the date you called we were busy and the job was scheduled for the following date at that time. I did just go back and make sure I checked to verify. The reason the techs were not given the work order was because the job was in the books for the next day and not that date. I never received a message about anything on the business phone so you may have called the technicians personal cell phone and not here which means I never received the message at all."

The scheduling staff and technician were courteous to both the tenant and me.  Prompt and timely arrival as well as thorough repair.  they suggested repairs instead of replacement of a system that is on it's last legs.  While I felt the total $$ ultimately was more than expected I'd call them again--and likely will have to!

"This job was quite some time ago- so I took a look at the invoice, and this job required a full tear out which is why the price is the total that it is. If you did not inform the Service Tech before the job was quoted out that you were an Angies list member it would not have been applied, as we would have no way of knowing you are an Angies list member without you telling us. Discounts are not able to be applied after the job has been quoted out or completed. Also if you have called the number 414 645 1686 that is directly to me at the office and I have not received any calls nor messages which is why their has been no call returned. If you do call us I can certainly get someone out their for a service call."

  It was a fierce winter storm in January. My car was captive in the garage, when the door would not raise.
  I called and they came out the same day. They got in and replaced the spring in an hour and I was sprung!

After finding this "High rated" Angies list service i assumed that they would be able to help me with a repair of my garage door.
Unfortunately i cannot say if they do good work, or are reasonable.... since they failed to show up or even call within the 3 hour time frame they gave me.  
I can understand if jobs run long, and the next job is delayed BUT!!!!
at 12:15 i call their office to ask why i have not received a call yet from the service person, and i was told, with surprise that she would call him and ask why.... at 12:45 i again call the office, but this time, instead of the pleasant and confused, ready to help person i get an answering machine.
It is now 2:00 and i am still wondering just what happened to that service person.
Customer service is really something that should not be so difficult to understand.
Luebke Overhead Doors does NOT understand, obviously!
A simple call is all you needed to make, instead you choose to not call at all, or even try.

UPDATE
at about 330, yesterday evening a service person arrived at my door apologizing for the other driver and was unaware of what had happened to him.
He completed the job and did good work, for this i will improve my rating of this job, but i still feel that it is unacceptable to leave your customers hanging.

"I do apologize about this [Member name removed], we had an extremely odd day here which is no excuse. It took me a while to get a hold of the Tech and when I did I found out he had a broken down truck and was urgently trying to find someone to pick it up and get it fixed right away which is why i wasn't able to get a hold of him, I than called my service tech John which is the Tech that came out to your home a 3 and informed him i needed him over their, unfortunately i assumed he would call and update you and he assumed I would call and update with the information and time. I do apologize on that. I did run out around 1230ish and grabbed lunch and I answer the messages when i return. My service Tech did NOT charge for the cables or the Credit Card 4 percent charge since we were late. I also did not that he gave you a quote for a new Liftmaster and wood bracing, i would like to give you a $20.00 discount if you do end up going with us. I am the office manager Shyla Brown just refer to me. Thank you"

called them several weeks later, after receiving confirmation of payment, to ask if the 10% angies list discount was applied, because on the estimate and the invoice it did not show the discount - I did mention that I was a angies list member and would like the discount.  given an answer that just did not sound right. am not sure if I, in fact, did get the discount.

My husband had been fiddling around with the garage door for months. One of the wheels had worn out and he put in plastic washers, cardboard, spit, what-have-you. Finally, I had enough and called Luebke Overhead Doors because they were highly rated on Angie's List and the business was located close by. After a couple of scheduling snafus, the work was done in a professional manner.  I think the scheduling problems were mainly because they are so busy because they are so good.  Their price for this job was amazing.  I am still waiting for an inside door handle and they have the key to the left door in order to install the handle.   Their installers worked quickly and answered all my questions on how to maintain the doors.  I appreciate their good work and have already recommended them to my neighbor.
