He installed the door over two days with a helper on one of the days. We found the rotted wood that led to the need for a replacement door extended into the walls. Frank took care of this as well. Also found a carpenter ant colony! Frank cleaned them out and recommended an exterminator. Although the project went beyond the scope of just putting in the sliding door, I felt comfortable with Frank and his expertise. He has an excellent demeanor and comes across as quite knowledgeable and fair. He also answered phone calls and called back promptly.
Description of Work: I had a contractor in line that gave measurements and green lighted a sliding door special order purchase (Marvin Wood/Fiberglass doors from Zuern). The contractor ended up falling off the radar and never returned phone calls. I called a few other carpenters and all told me the Marvin special order door was the wrong size and they would not do the job. I told them my prior contractor had an architect's license and said it would work. It was not until my wife found Frank that we found someone who could put in the door that was ordered. This was a great relief because it was starting to look like we would have a sliding door and no way to put it in (unless other contractor called me back). Note, I had very positive experiences with the other contractor on prior projects,. He had charged $35 an hour rate (friend of a friend discount). He had done work for us and was punctual. Something happened with him that is unclear, but he just fell off the map. Frank is not $35 an hour, but he was not much more. Thus, I give price a B rating, but still found his rates reasonable.

The job went great. He was willing to work with us as far as budget and kind of match it to the house. He was around our schedule. That was only like a half day work. They would just give us a call even if they were in the area for something else. They were very flexible, very professional and did very good work. I think he was reasonable. There was one time he couldn’t be here for some reason and he called before and let me know that he was going to be late.
Description of Work: Lorbecki Carpentry LLC did some general carpentry work in October.

Frank pretty much made it possible for us to live in the really neglected home we purchased. The things he didn't do, he helped us to do ourselves by giving us instructions and tips. Everyone who comes in can't believe the transformation. It is truly amazing. He is just wonderful to work with, always making suggestions and giving us options.
Description of Work: Replaced all exterior and interior doors and trim, window trim, baseboards. Created a pantry and linen cabinet. Replaced bath vanilty. Took out partial walls. Tore out old kitchen cabinets and Z-brick, putting in new dry-wall and cabinets. Price doesn't include cabinets or doors.
