JAMES CRAIG BUILDERS

We met with the Susan Kentkowski initially. She reviewed the services provided, pictures of existing homes, benefits of working with them and awards that the company has received. We also met with 4 other builders. We liked the small size of the company and our personalities meshed well with all of the staff that we met. Everyone was professional and courteous. We met with Craig Rakowski, the president, several times. He personally inspected the lots that we were considering and helped us choose the one that we purchased. We spent several hours modifying the floor plan. We spend several hours making exterior selections. We spent many, many hours making individual supplier selections. This was the hardest part for us. The suppliers were typically very far from where we lived. In one case, the flooring supplier was so expensive that we were able to afford only the cheapest selections from their stock. We ended up asking our builder to refer us to another supplier. That supplier had many more selections that we were able to afford. We received frequent updates and several walk-throughs with our expediter, Dave Montguire. The work was done very much according to schedule. There were absolutely no problems during the entire building process that were disclosed to us nor that we could find. At occupancy, nearly the entire staff joined us in the house for champagne and hors d'oevres. The work was top notch. After occupancy, a professional painter gave us an estimate on interior paint. He was surprised at the tightness of all of the wood trim around the windows and doors. This is typical of people's responses when they closely inspect the house. Now having occupied the house for 3 months, our punch list of things to fix or incomplete work is 3. All are minor: a light sensor in one bathroom burned out, a wood panel was not placed in the kitchen and Tot-Loks on our entertainment center were misaligned. That is much lower than we expected or could have even imagined. We have not even brought up the first one and the latter 2 have already been fixed. We love our James Craig home!

An excellent experience. Everyone in the company was wonderful to work with and very responsive to our needs and requests. I hope to never build again, but if I do, I will definitely build with them again.

JAMES CRAIG WAS WONDERFUL TO WORK WITH. THEY BUILT US A QUALITY HOUSE AND INCLUDED UPGRADES IN THEIR PRICE. THEY DIDN'T USE THE BASE PRICE PLUS UPGRADES THAT MANY OTHER BUILDERS USE. LINDA (RECEPTIONIST) IS ALWAYS VERY CHEERFUL AND CRAIG AND JIM EVEN SENT US FLOWERS WHEN OUR SON WAS BORN AND A FRUIT BASKET WHEN WE MOVED IT!
