I was the general contractor for our kitchen remodel. I chose to deal directly with each of the contractors I wanted for everything I needed, despite the fact Home Pride Remodeling was able to provide all these services as well. Jim & his work are awesome!! We are absolutely thrilled with the quality of the cabinets we received & the price for them. We were able to get custom cabinets, even with a custom dye/stain finish & they look so wonderful with our new granite counter top along with custom trim work. Everyone who sees our kitchen is impressed with the color & quality of the cabinets. They all say how "rich" they look. The cabinet installer he used for our house is our favorite finish carpenter!! We even had him come back & do some other projects for us. If you decide to go with Home Pride Remodeling, expect Jim to be on time, straight forward & to the point. He will provide you with excellent service & phenomenal quality all at a terrific value! I shopped around with 5 different contractors before selecting Home Pride Remodeling. I can assure you, you won't be disappointed. I can't wait for our next project to order some more custom cabinetry from Home Pride Remodeling!

The project started in January 2013. It ran long because we ordered special cherry wood butcher block counter tops. From the moment of the old cabinet tear out, there were hardly any days when someone wasn't working on the job until the new cabinets were installed. We had down time for several weeks because the special order counter tops could not be measured for or ordered until the cabinets were in place. The wall and base cabinets are of exceptionally high quality. The construction is solid maple with mortise and tenon joints and high-grade plywood sides and backs finished with a durable pigmented conversion varnish finish. No particle board. The fronts have raised panels except for one set of wall cabinets that have glass fronts. On these, I replaced the wood shelves with 3/8and quot; glass so that the LED lighting we had installed can shine all the way through. All drawers and pull out shelves have self-closing hardware. The cherry wood butcher block is finished with Varnique, a food grade varnish and looks fabulous and warm. The back splash is subway tile with a recycled glass accent running through it. The under cabinet lighting really accents the shine of the tile. The old vinyl flooring was replaced with Dura-Ceramic tile which offers the durability of ceramic tile, but it's more flexible and doesn't have the cold feel. The two ceiling lights in the kitchen were replaced with 5 recessed fixtures which offer much more light than we had before. All the lighting is dimmable. The sink is white composite and we had a Moen motion sensor faucet with pull-out sprayer installed along with a super quiet Kitchen Aid garbage disposal and a new window above it. We kept our relatively new stove, but have a new counter depth refrigerator with ice and water, a new convection microwave oven over the stove that is now vented outside the house and new dishwasher. Lastly, the electrical contractor upgraded our electrical service from 100 amp to 200 amp including outside meter and new service box. This project will definitely add resale value to our house whenever we decide to sell. Out of all the estimates we asked for, Home Pride Remodeling gave us the most for our money by far. We were impressed with the contractor from the first meeting and continued to be happy with the professionalism, the skill and quality of work by all of his sub-contractors and the willingness to work with us when we asked for changes during the project. We definitely will recommend Home Pride Remodeling to our friends and neighbors.

The work was done in a professional manner with no delays or problems. I would recommend this company to anyone looking for kitchen work to be done. We got the tile back splash from The Tile Shop in West Allis. They also were very helpful and patient. I would recommend them as well.
Description of Work: Carpenter was there Friday, Nov 23rd, to start a kitchen backsplash. We picked out the tile and the grout and James, the owner, was patient with the choice, as sometimes colors and materials are hard to visualize how they will look in your home versus the showroom. James's prices were a little high, but the result was really amazing. I was willing to spend a little more because we already had a backsplash done, but did not care for the results. James was willing to tear down the old back splash, which I appreciated. AT NO COST TO ME to remove the old back splash. Jim, the worker who installed the tile back splash, was experienced, polite and very neat. Just the type of worker you want in your home-not too chatty but pleasant. I'm very happy with the result and would recommend this company to a anyone looking for kitchen work to be done. Home Pride Remodeling was a good company to work with.

The work went really fast. After the sofits were tore out I decided to have recessed lights put in to update the look of the kitchen. That put the work back a bit but we were ok with that. The cabinets were put up in one very long day. The workers were here from 7 in the morning until 5 at night. We had looked into DIY cabinets but the angled wall that I wanted a cabinet to go in could not be fitted with ready made cabinets. In the end my husband was very glad he didn't have to do this job. The cabinets are beautiful! Due to the funny angle of the one cabinet the counter top person couldn't make the rolled edge on the counter top. I decided that I wanted a beveled edge instead of the flat edge. That took another week but again, we were ok with the delay. There was an upcharge of $250 for the beveled edge but it was a look I wanted so we didn't mind. Jim was upfront when I about the charge when I wanted the beveled edge. We choose a Formica top that looks like granite to save some money anyway and the up-charge wasn't near the granite's price. The counter top turned out very nice and no seams. Everyone who sees it thinks it is granite! Jim from Homepride was in contact with us the entire time. We paid half when we signed the contract and the other half when the work was all completed. Jim and his subcontractors were very professional and did a wonderful job. I love my new kitchen. However there is a down side to this - now all my neighbors and friends are jealous! I just give out Jim's card.
Description of Work: We had the kitchen completely gutted. Tore out the sofits and all old cabinets and counter-tops. Homepride drywalled the sofits, put in recessed lighting and a few more outlets that were needed, moved the plumbing for the dishwasher, and custom made a cabinet to fit in a corner of our kitchen.

It was fabulous. The cabinets are just exquisite, and they get top ratings. All of the people that worked for him were great, and the quality of the cabinets was outstanding. It took a little longer than we anticipated but that was not anything they could help. There were just normal construction issues, but it wasn't their fault. It took around 10 weeks. We're having them come in at the end of February for something else.
Description of Work: They installed all new cabinets and Silas stone countertops, and they had to do some heavy-duty ducting for us. They did electrical and drywall work, moved the service for the stove, and replaced the sink.
