Decide to do something else.

We went through Mukwonago Remodeling for this job and Bob Reimer told us to go to Granite & Stone Designs LLC and we would find our granite countertops there. As most people know, you have to view the entire slab of granite in order to see all the imperfections in it as one slab of granite is not the same as the next.  We never got to see the entire slabs because they didn't have the equipment to pull it out for us so all we could see was what was visible. Also, we were never informed when the countertops were fabricated because its important that we be able to pick out which areas we preferred over others.  They just went ahead and cut them.  As for the granite itself, we were never told by Granite & Stone Designs LLC that this particular type of granite has a tendenancy to chip in the grey areas. In the first few days of ownership, we had several of the grey areas of the granite chip out and leave large holes with sharp edges. In addition, the finish on the granite was not satisfactory at all. To this day the finish is schmeary and you can't get them clean because of the holes. We wrote to the company (Granite &Stone Designs) and received an unsatisfactory answer. Basically, they blamed it on us.  We then wrote a second letter to the company asking them to either take the granite out and replace it with another granite which would not chip or give us our money back. We never received an answer. Both letters went through Mukwonago Remodeling. We have a suspicion that the second letter never got to Granite & Stone Designs. We repeatedly called both Mukwonago Remodeling and Granite & Stone Designs LLC and never received a response from either one of them.  Getting ahold of Granite & Stone Designs is impossible.  All you ever get is an answering machine and you are told to leave a message.  When you do, no one gets back to you.  In addition, when we tried to get ahold of the representative who sold us the granite we were met with hostility and indifference.  They simply didn't care.  My mother lost 5,000 dollars in this transaction and we never got any satisfaction as they have no customer service to speak of nor do they have any ethics on how to do business. Do NOT do business with GRANITE & STONE DESIGNS LLC they are in business simply to make money and don't care how the job turns out.

I called quite a few granite companies, some did not want to do a small job like the bathroom vanity I needed. I went to a few companies that were willing to do the job to see what remnants were available. Most were not very helpful. They would show you a small part of a slab in a warehouse without adequate lighting. When I went to Gracious Granite Linda was very accommodating. She showed me all the available slabs. Since some slabs were partially hidden by other slabs, she offered to have several that I was interested in moved so I could see them better. Linda took as much time and concern to help me pick out a piece I would be happy with for this small job as she would have for a complete kitchen. They installed the under mount sink on the granite top.They completed the job promptly. They loaded it in the truck for us. We installed it in the bathroom ourselves. I am very happy with it!

THEY WERE TARDY FROM THE START, OF THE PROJECT, THEY WERE MESSY. WE HAD PROBLEMS FROM THE START I NOTICED SCRATCHES ON THE COUNTERTOP AND THEY "SAID DON'T WORRY, THE LAYOUT WAS NOT RIGHT FOR THE SINK AND FACET." THE SIZING WAS NOT CORRECT AND THEY CUT INTO THE DRYWALL AND CAUSED A MESS IN THE HOUSE. THEIR VACUUM COULDN'T PICKUP THE DEBRIS SO THEY USED OURS. THEY HAD TO MILL DOWN THE BACK SPLASH BECAUSE OF INCORRECT SIZING. THREE PIECE BACK SPLASH CAUSED A GAP, THEY SAID USE A FILLER THAT WAS A DIFFERENT COLOR.
