Gold Coast Construction

I had William John of Gold Coast Construction do work for me in the past including siding and water heater replacement.  The jobs went fine, but there were always extra costs he would tack on.  I justified paying them thinking that he was still cheaper than "the other guy".  His tile work on a bathroom, however, helped me to decide to stop using him.
I needed wall tiling in a bathroom including the shower area.  To confirm his work looked good, I had him show me a job he did elsewhere (his mother's place).  It looked good.  I only wished mine turned out as well.  First, I paid for the materials to get the tile I wanted and (I had hoped) save money.  He dropped and cracked a box of tiles, which came out of my pocket.  It is difficult to argue these things when the job is only half done.  
The big mistake of craftsmanship was the plaster job he did above the tiles.  He put it on too thick to allow the top bullnose trim tiles to be installed.  Dumb mistake that can't be fixed without tearing out the wall and starting over.  Of course he apologized, but that only goes so far.  Now the tile has not trim, and it looks amateurish and unfinished.  Finally, one of the tiles is cracked already.
