Gabor Design Build is EXCELLENT to work with. From the first stages of bidding through the completion of the project, Gabor Design Build was extremely professional, responsive, very thorough with sub contractors, very creative from a design and working with issues older homes can sometimes impose, and remained on time and within budget. Most importantly, Gabor does excellent work and has a very high standard of craftsmanship and quality. I have worked with many contractors over the years, and Gabor has truly been the best experience I have had. I have used Gabor Design Build for smaller subsequent projects as well, and the level of professionalism and quality is the same as with the larger project. This is a small but important detail, Gabor keeps the work site very clean and keeps construction dust to a minimum. This is very important when living in your home at the same time as a major project.

When we decided to explore adding the french doors and balcony, we received a very detailed estimate from Nathan Gabor as well as some plans showing 2 options: double french doors or one and the difference in cost. He met with us to thoroughly explain the various line items in the estimate and we discussed what each entailed. Not surprisingly, the biggest expense was the doors and windows themselves. As soon as the doors and windows arrived, they began work and the project took approximatley 2 weeks to complete. They helped us to clear out the room before they began and did as much work from the outside as possible so as to minimize disruption. They had to demo almost one whole exterior wall in the bedroom and given the age of the house found a few surprises in that the framing was not traditional. However, they developed a solution and worked around that surprise. They also worked with my electrician--who I have do all the work in our house--and coordinated so that both could do what they needed to do. They were very neat and tidy in their work and cleaned up every night. Nathan self identified any things that needed to be fixed, for example, the exterior painting of the siding didn't dry properly due to the weather--not sure that I would have noticed, but Nathan told me and said they would re-do in the spring. Nathan noticed that the hinges on the doors were not a shiny brass (to match everything else) but rather dull. Again, he paid attention to detail to make sure that our project was done perfectly. His crew also re-painted the entire bedroom--sanding down the woodwork and repainting that and the walls. The painting was done very well. All in all, we love our new bedroom and had a very, very good experience working with Gabor Design and Build and Nathan Gabor.

Our project went very well. Nathan runs an efficient schedule and is very easy to deal with. Someone was here working every day, often times, more than one sub contractor. He is very knowledgeable, capable and pays excellent attention to detail leaving you at ease knowing that things will be taken care of and done right. If you aren't thrilled about something, he will fix it. From his design ideas, to accommodating our daily living needs, his hands on skills across the various trades and his resourcefulness to keep the project on budget all make it difficult for us to consider using anyone else in the future.

Excellent. The owner of Gabor Design Build (Nathan Gabor) designed the rooms to complement our existing home with archways that matched a theme on our main floor. He gave a number of options to help us meet our target budget, showing us ways to decrease cost without sacrificing quality. He was very knowledgeable, helpful and patient as we "waffled" on some things, and he gave excellent insights into the design and building process that helped us finalize the plan. The project took about 3 months and he finished it about two weeks ahead of schedule. The work he and his crew did was outstanding, and the subcontractors he used were also excellent. All of them were neat and clean in their work with cleanup done on a daily basis to minimize the mess. Throughout the entire 3 month project there were only two days when work was not being done, (waiting for a subcontractor) which from past experience is not at all typical (usually many more "down" days in major projects). We would not hesitate to use Gabor Design Build for any future project in our home.
