Have been a customer for 25+ years. Any issues, I would call them. Good, fast service...until recently. Needed the springs replaced, due to one being broken. Technician showed up on time, replaced my springs in short order. Never checked the door operation, just packed up asap, took my credit card info and was on his way. A number of weeks later the door would not close, it kept raising after coming in contact with the floor. After a few cycles it would stay closed. Shortly after that I noticed the door was crooked and had a gap on one side. I adjusted the cable but after a short time it was crooked again. I called consolidated and explained the problem, told the woman who answered how long I have been a customer and that I needed it fixed. I was lookin at invoices dating back to 1999 at the time. She said that they had no record of any services done for me, and basically accused me of being untruthful. Told me it would be 126.00 for them to come out. I told her no thank you, I was not lying and would never use them or recommend them again. Called another company that promptly came out. Discovered that the technician did not wind the springs correctly. Described the individual to them and they knew exactly who was out. He had worked at there company in the past but was let go. Well a hundred dollars later the door works great and I will be using them for all my future issues and recommendations.

arrived as planned. Technician friendly.
both springs replaced as there were 2 different size springs on garage door.
lubricated springs and other areas on door track.
On my initial call to Consolidated I asked if they had a coupon offer or discount for angie's list and they did not. Was told they keep there prices low so everyone who uses there service benefits. Staff I spoke with was pleasant and seemed very sincere.
I then called a different  garage door service company for a quote and received a higher quote. Only after I said I wanted to think about it did the  other company  offer me a discount thus price would have been slightly lower then Consolidated  I got the impression , if I had agreed to there original quote , no discount would have been offered.
I went with Consolidated because I felt a sense of honestly with them. Will use them for all future garage door needs.

They were very responsive - came by the same morning that I called.  The woman I spoke to on the phone, as well as the men who showed up to my house, were all professional and polite.  It only took them maybe 10 minutes to figure out the problem, fix it, and tell me what was done.  They also pointed out the underlying problem that had caused the cable to jump the track (the door was rubbing against the wooden framework).
I had no problem with the service itself, but I take some issue with the price.  $91 for literally 5 minutes of work just seems appalling.  I don't know what their price structure is (what the rate is for a service call, or various services), but I was shocked to be charged that much for what was a very quick fix.  I don't know what other places would charge for the same service, but I would probably try somewhere else next time.  Again, not that I had any problem with the service or the people, but I couldn't believe that 5 minutes cost me $91.

One workman showed up on time to begin the removal process of the old doors....he worked his butt off.  When the 2nd workman arrived, the work slowed.  Together they braced the garage to remove the old supports, restructure the headers and openings and got ready for the new doors.  the 1st workman left around 3:30 - presumably to dispose of the debris in his truck. The 2nd workman stayed until we think 4:30 because around 5 I looked out the window to find both trucks were gone, the garage left standing wide open with nothing covering the front displaying for anyone driving past my 2 snow blowers, lawn mower, and other assorted tools and ladders left exposed.  I had to go buy 2 large tarps to tarp off the openings - in the rain!   They came back the next day to finish & there was complaining because they had to take down the tarps.  They put up the rails and doors & door opener and that looks and works great.  Their restructuring of the headers and supports took out the sway the garage was developing, for that work I'm very happy.  However the contract read to re-trim in select pine.  there is select pine on the side supports and center post but the headers were covered in scrap crap with huge nails and gaps. We called and were told they were 'fabricating' something back at the shop & would finish.  Then winter hit.  Didn't really expect them to work in sub zero but in spring when called multiple times there has been no response to complete their job, it's now the end of August. I wish I could post pictures of what the header face looks like but alas I cannot.  Due to the fact they seem to have "forgotten" they have a job to complete I'm not satisfied. OH, I forgot, on day one I saw workman number 2 decide my garden was the best place to relieve himself of his morning coffee - more than once.  I live in the city with neighbors quite close & have a powder room off the back entrance. I'm willing to let workman use it as it is more sanitary than my garden. If that's too personal for them McDonalds is only a few blocks away (workman 1 went there as he came back with a fresh coffee)!

The door now works like it's supposed to and is much quieter.  They are very responsive, well qualified, and reasonably priced..  This is the second time we've had CDI work on the door. Several years ago I came home from work (6:30 pm) to find the door spring had snapped, stranding my wife's car in the garage.  We both had work the next morning so we madly called around and found CDI.  Luckily their local tech lives right down the road.  He came over and had the spring replaced by 8:30 pm!  Again for a reasonable price.  Our next adventure with this door will probably its replacement.  We'll be sure to call CDI for that too.

Service could NOT have been better.  Within an hour of calling for service, the door was fixed.
The coil had come unsprung from the overhead garage door making it in-operable.  Service man came, re-coiled the coil, fixing the tension.
Both the person who answered the phone & service man himself were so pleasant to do business with.
I will not hesitate to use Consolidated Doors again for my garage door needs.

They did a really nice job on my entry doors. They are a pretty established door company. They were pushing a door, called Clopay, and we had a really good experience. His price was good, it was less by 3000 Dollars from another company.

It went excellent from the time the installer arrived to the time he left.  He explained to me everything that was going on and tuned the door up prior to installing the new opener.  He was very friendly and professional and gave me some recommendations on the old garage door without pressuring me to get a new one.

Highly recommend..

They were excellent and most importantly worked around my crazy schedule. I first had issue w/door opening only about a foot. Thought it was the ancient Genie door opener so I purchased new Craftsman opener from Sears which was installed on a Tuesday. Same issue occurred when the guy tried to open the door w/new opener. He said it had something to do with tension and adjusted a few things on the opener and got the door to work fine. On Friday afternoon the door suddenly wouldn't close. Called Consolidated Door and they were able to send someone over within the hour. He determined the spring was broke and was able to install a new spring within the next hour so I didn't have to wait until Monday. Since the door was an older "do-it-yourself" model, you were not able to physically see the springs to determine one was broken as they were located inside the door. Sears should have known this when they encountered the same issue with the door not opening fully and how difficult it was to raise the door, however, the guy didn't know and was a relatively new installer. Hopefully, I didn't damage the new door opener by using it for a couple of days with a door that had a broken spring. Lesson learned...call Consolidated Door first, not Sears, when dealing with garage doors or door openers!

The sales rep thoroughly explained the options available and provided detailed estimates for the options that I was interested in. No high pressure tactics. Very professional and knowledgable. The price beat other providers. The time between purchase and installation seemed a bit long but it was done right the first time and it looks great.

I have had an excellent experience with them. They were punctual. They fixed the broken spring the first time. This happened on a Saturday, it was not Tuesday before they could get there but that includes Sunday and I do not think, unless it is probably an emergency, they work on Sunday. Their work has been thorough, punctual, and of good value. Regarding punctuality, they gave us a 2-hour window and they were there within that as per my wife. They tried to walk me through some simple actions like the remote and so on, just to see if it could be fixed with that and I appreciated that, however it did not fix it but at least they gave it a try.
