Our new roof is high-quality and beautiful, e.g., (1) all the rotten wood is replaced, and (2) the roof system is solid (ice & water shield all over and 2 layers of 30 lb felt). The workers were professional. The contractor kept me well-informed of progress throughout. He worked with our stucco contractor (to coordinate repair of stucco, damaged by removal of shingles attached under stucco); he left his scaffolding for several weeks after roof work completed for them to use. Also, he helped resolve the problem when the chimney needed tuck-pointing, advising us on contractors and waiting while we got estimates. Eventually, we asked him do the work based on: (1) our confidence in his craftsmanship, (2) he could do it right away (better to do it before finishing the roof job and putting the new flashing on), (3) his price was competitive, and (4) from talking to the masonry specialists, we felt confident that the work he proposed was the right thing for the chimney.
