We had found some issues in the basement that seemed troubling. Charles came and inspected the basement. He was knowledgeable and thorough. We appreciated his assessment and were left with peace of mind. I would definitely seek Charles out should any issues arise in the future. His services and expertise came highly recommended and we were not disappointed.

Very well, Chuck was on time and was very polite. He inspected our basement walls and eased our concerns.( A large company had quoted us close to $40,000 to do an immediate repair. This company told us our basement walls were terribly bad and needed immediate repair.) Chuck gave us some advice, extend the downspouts and re-grade the yard. Chuck told us that there wasn't a problem with the basement walls. He eased our concerns and saved us a small fortune.

I was recommended to use Charles in addition to home inspector. Charles did a thorough examination of of the house inside (basement) and outside. He made numerous recommendations on issues at hand and how to prevent the issues with proper maintenance. Chuck is wealth of information and provides an unbiased opinion for the homeowner. I highly recommend his services.

Chuck was amazing, even though there was a misunderstanding and I didn't hirer him. The buyer had hired Chuck to completed the foundation inspection on our home without informing us. So when he came to my door I was completed shocked and leery. However, he assured me his quality of work and professionalism. In addition, when Chuck realized that I had no knowledge of his appointment and that I was supposed to pay him and not the individual whom hired him, he offered not to charge me for the inspection. Since I was going to pay someone anyway for the foundation inspection and the misunderstanding was not his fault, I choose to pay Chuck for his work.

Chuck was amazing! He was more fairer than fair and took the time to educate me on things I did not know about basements and recommendations on things to do next to help solve the problem. I would hire Chuck again in a heart beat! What an honest great guy!

Really responsive and willing to help, yet unprofessional at times. Final report had subjective information, instead of objective, which made it difficult to concisely understand the proper action needed to resolve basement issues.

Charles provided a wealth of information for myself and the buyer of the house for the basement issue that was discovered. Charles explained the problem, bowing wall with horizontal crack, and provided a great deal of comfort in addressing the issue in an easy to understand manor. What I find especially valuable is that Charles is not selling anything in the way of repairs. He provides unbiased inspection and mitigation suggestions. I will wholeheartedly recommend Charles to anyone in need of possible basement repairs. Sure, someone may be enticed by a free consultation. But, that consultation may lead to spending thousands more for work that is not necessary.
Response from Charles Weber Consutling
"Sadly, some people knowledgeable in the field of foundation repair use that knowledge to take advantage of trusting homeowners by selling costly and often unneeded foundation repairs. I made a choice many years ago to use my knowledge of foundation repair to protect homeowners, like Mr. [Member Name Removed], from these type of predators. Many homeowners with concerns about their foundation are afraid to deal with it because of their fear of making the wrong decision on how to correct it. Any homeowners who think their saving money by getting a free estimate from a Foundation Repair Contractor should call me before signing any contract for repairs. I am so confident about my services that if you don't feel better about your foundation problem by the time I complete my inspection, I'll wave my fee."

I was referred to Charles Weber Consulting to get a non-biased opinion on what exactly was the problem in our basement. I called and left a message. Chuck returned my call within the hour, he could tell how troubled I was about this basement issue and made room on his schedule for me. Chuck arrived about 5 minutes early, came to the side door because he didn't want to track snow into our house. Chuck went right to work and within minutes told me that I should relax, that I didn't have any structural issues. He then took me outside and told me what I needed to do, much of which I being somewhat handy could do myself. Thanks Chuck it was money well spent.

"Thank you for your kind words. A major reason homeowners avoid addressing their basement concerns is out of their fear of making the wrong decision on what to do. Inspections like yours remind me why I love what I do as much as I do. Foundation Repair Contractors SELL foundation repairs, that'[Member Information Removed] their job. We have many reputable, honest Foundation Contractors in our area. The reason I've been in business for the last 30 years is because of the Foundation Contractors who turn their customers into victims. Thank you for taking the time to write this review."

Went great. He spent a considerable amount of time educating me on what happens to foundations and helped set up measures to determine if problems existed. He also saved me about 10,000 in probably unnecessary repairs.

This is the third time that we have consulted with Charles Weber regarding water issues in our basement. Each time he was able to diagnose the problem and suggest a solution. This last time proved to be a very easy fix. We are very pleased to recommend this service provider.

This is the second time that we have used Mr. Weber's consulting services. Each time his diagnostic skills have been extremely useful and have helped us resolve the problems appropriately and minimized our total costs for repairs. We have also referred him  to friends who have also been satisfied with his services. We highly recommend him.

I contacted Mr. Weber for help as I was having issues with water entering my basement during rain and snow falls this past year. I was worried about the damage it would cause to our already old house. He came out and examined the inside and outside of my house and told me exactly what was wrong and what to do. Replace our driveway and add down spouts was his answer. While I was praying he would not say that, we followed his advice and he was spot on. A new driveway and down spouts fixed the problem and we have not had any rain enter the basement since. I feel much better knowing the condition of my foundation will not be an issue going forward. I would recommend Mr. Weber in the future and would use him again.

Mr Weber was knowledgeable, and very professional.  He told me what I had already suspected, that my problems were largely cosmetic, then gave me advice on how to do relatively inexpensive things if problems arose later on (mostly involving drainage -- where I was doing everything wrong!)  I found Mr. Weber on Angie's List,  where he was very well reviewed, with the exception of one apparent outlier.  After reading that person's complaints, it struck me that this was an individual that had her own agenda.  The review was certainly in  stark contrast to the other reviews that I read, and I decided that I would contact him.   I am very pleased that I did, and would recommend him to anyone who is concerned about foundation problems and wants an unbiased opinion from someone who is not  in the business of selling foundation  repairs.

Chuck was very helpful and responsive over the phone. He was able to have Rick come to our home in a timely manner to perform the services. We learned what we needed to know about our basement which allows us to make the appropriate corrections.

Great. We were selling our home and an inspector recommended a drain tile test. We were warned by a number of contractors that it is difficult to get a real independent drain tile test, since, it is primarily contractors that perform the tests and they benefit by recommending repairs. Then, I found Charles Weber. I highly recommend getting a true independent analysis prior to having a contractor in your basement. Our test results were clean and no further work required.

- Inspection team arrived on time
- Team leader performed outside inspection while assistant moved equipment into basement
- 3 inspection holes drilled to open up existing drain tile
- Tile was blocked in all 3 places
- Report recommended new drain tile for inspected area
- Team leader also suggested putting a cap on the chimney to prevent water from going through the fireplace to basement
- Team leader also suggested changing the disposition of gutter downspouts to put rainwater discharge farther from house

It was awful. Chuck on two occasions forgot my situation and why I wanted him there. He yelled at me when I asked him questions and when I told him that I did not like the look of the repairs he was recommending and was wondering if there was an alternate method. He said that I seem to think I know it all alreay and obviously dont want his opinion and threatened to leave. At the start of his evaluation he said that the repairs needed were not all that extensive then after talking with a contractor in the basement privately he changed his approach and added a lot more repairs to his report. He then went behind my back and disclosed information to the seller that was supposed to be between him and I since I hired and paid him. He also convinced the seller that he is the only non-biased person in the area capable of performing a drain tile test which is untrue. I found 3 other Home inspection outfits who are not associated with contractors that were qualified and capable to perform the test for half the cost he wanted to charge me. I now walked away from the home my family and I have been looking two years to find and fell in love with. It was a huge mistake hiring Chuck Weber. He is not an engineer as I was lead to believe nor has he ever worked on a basement foundation in his carreer as far as I know. His whole business is presenting plans that he found on the Wisconsin Assocation of Foundation Repair Proffessionals website which anyone can look up and print out themselves for free! How he has been in able to get away with this for as long as he has beyond me. If you are looking for expert advice do yourself a favor and hire a REAL expert.

During the purchase of our home, the general inspection revealed some cracks in the foundation walls. We were referred to Charles Weber Consulting to review the issues. While several opinions leaned toward expensive bracing/jacking work, it turned out we simply needed better drainage outside the house (downspouts, improved grade away from house, etc). Going to an independent inspector rather than a contractor was a great confidence builder, as he had no incentive to sell us on any particular services. Everything was explained in great detail, in language a layman could understand. We've implemented almost every suggested fix outside the house and have yet to see a drop of water in our basement.

He arrived promptly on time. Looked at the inside and outside of our basement walls and around the property. He wanted me at his side to point things out and provide an education about things we could improve, both from structural and maintainence standpoints.
