Birchwood has all the major brands in their store so I could compare them. I stopped in 3 times to look at them before buying this one. Salesman was very tolerant of me and my pickiness, I am VERY picky.
, He was Very helpful and knowledgeable, always had a smile and greeted me right away. all in all a pleasant experience.Also I had ordered several chainsaw parts etc. from Birchwood in the past and am Very happy that service.

On May 9, I stopped by the new Cedarburg location to inquire about purchasing a mulching kit and having my mower serviced. I was told that the mulch kit would need to be ordered, but that it would be in by the following week.
The week of May 13, we were called to let us know that the part was in. Scheduled pick-up of the mower (pickup was free!) for the following week for the installation and spring maintenance.
On May 29, I phoned to ask about the status of the installation. Was told that the service was complete. Was told that they would phone the next day to schedule delivery.
After not receiving a call, I phoned them the next day. Now, the mower was not yet complete as the part had not yet come in. I asked to have my mower returned so that I could mow the lawn. Was told that that it was not possible until the following week. After some complaining and many phone calls, our mower was returned with the promise of phoning when the part that I ordered came in.
And, this time, they did phone, and picked up the mower again. They told us that they would be there in the afternoon. They arrived at 9:00 am -- requiring us to have an elderly neighbor let them in our house to retrieve the mower. They kept the mower only a few days, then returned it. They also did not charge me for the labor to install the troublesome and mysterious mulch kit.
Things were looking up! Until I began to mow the lawn...
The mower was making a strange squealing noise and the cut on the lefthand side of the mower was uneven. When I stopped to examine the mower, I saw that the drive belt for the blades was incorrectly installed (obviously so -- I'm not a mechanic and even I knew it was incorrect). I fixed it, and continued on.
Later that evening, I was filing my receipt, and noticed that they had provided me another customer's receipt for two bags of mulch instead of my receipt.
Overall, not a great experience. While I appreciate the free labor costs for the install of the mulch kit and the free pick-up and delivery, I would have appreciated more consistent and concise communication. I understand that plans change, and parts are sometimes wrong. I understand that sometimes timing needs to change. BUT, too many of these things happened at once without transparency to me AND during the same work task.
